Thanks for all the sweet comments! Linda, the sock monkey is one of my favs too, as well as the Easter basket. I did it for my son's girlfriend this past Sept., she collects sock monkeys. By far the hardest one has been my son's life sized Fender Strat guitar cake. That one took some time. Calamity, I love Duff, have you seen Cake Boss with Buddy Valastro? I think I like his work even better than Duff's. Sunnyca, yes it's rolled fondant. I make my own from scratch, as well as the frosting and the cake. I'm terrified of Royal Icing, I am going to have to try that one day :)

kathy...have you seen that book that shows you how to use styrofoam to make planter boxes and architectural pieces that look like they're old enough to have come from ancient Rome? I will have to get the book from my daughter and post the name of it...it's just beautiful when it's done. I only saw the book for a few minutes quite a few months ago, but I am quite sure they used concrete on the styrofoam.
