I'm SO EXCITED! I just updated my webpage with my latest Garden Kreations.

I can't wait to see these shimmering in the sun this summer when I put my houseplants out to get their summer tans!

Kim~ Your webpage is awesome...and so are your creations! I especially like the butterfly planter.

Where do you get you hummingbirds, butterflies and fishies? I need some and have looked everywhere!

Kim, those hangers are beautiful. that also looks like some mightly heavy pots. If you don't mind me asking, What did you use to string up the beads??

dmid It's probably NOT the right kind. Menards doesn't carry the Quikrete product. THey have some other product called Cement Vinyl Patch... can't remember the mfr. It's in a 25 lb bag. Almost all Quikrete has rocks/larger aggregate in it. The mix you need is basically just sand and cement. I would return what you've got, go to Home Depot and get Quikrete CONCRETE vinyl patch. It's in a yellow and blue package. 40 lb THat's what I've used and so far so good. But remember, for those of us here in the north, if you want to keep your leaves outside in the winter, they should probably be turned over, so water cannot collect in them. The freeze-thaw cycle we have is known to crack flat stones! Also, they should be a minimum of 2-2 1/2 inches thick! For what I'm making right now, which I'd call garden decor, I plan on bringing those inside for the winter.... they're far too thin for outdoors.

The theme for May will be "Swapping Memories". I chose this theme because... My birthday is in May. When I was growing up in MA my Father planted a fence the width of our back yard with Lilacs. He did this a few years before I was born. By the time I was old enough to remember these lilac bushes they were 5-6 ft tall, full and lush. Well, they always were in full bloom just when my birthday rolled around. One May day when I was in the yard with my Dad, I was about 10, I said to him, how much I loved the lilacs and cutting them and bringing them in the house in a vase and that they always seemed to bloom around my birthday. My Dad said to me, "That's cause God made them just for you." I remember looking at him and back to the lilacs and smiling so big because I believed that wholeheartedly. I don't have any lilacs in my life at the moment but I have always hoped to get some again someday. My Dad died when I was 14 and we moved from that house 3 years later. My sister took some lilac shoots with her to the house we moved to and she still has them growing. I hope the May swap will be one where we swap something related to a flower, plant, or anything that holds a favorite memory for you. But, you must share the memory as well as a related item with your partner. Just a peek ahead to May, hope many of you join. Thanks for listening to my memory. Hello Diene When I worked full time at my 'career' I spent a lot more on skin care than that at a certain department store cosmetic counter. But these days my budget just wont stretch that far. (starving artist syndrome, ha ha) Anyway... it is still too warm here to plant bulbs, but I have planted over 100 daylilies and an equal number of TB Iris, mostly of the mixed NOID varieties, should be pretty exiting around here next summer. I have also planted Hostas and calla lilies and LambsEars. We were planning to plant a lawn this fall but without water it is just not practical, the clover and speedwell and plantain and wiregrass are getting a reprieve. Tracy Thanks again, my flowers have been lovely, but most of them (the annuals) bought the farm in July and August. With the water restrictions and 100+ degree temperatures I could not keep them alive. The perennials were started from seed last winter and held up much better but didn't bloom much. Next year will be better. I am planning to atart around 20 flats of drought tolerant and native perennial plants for next year... A garden is a work in progress, and my work is just begun. Frances

Thank you all so much for your wonderful compliments. I so enjoy making these and seem to sell them as soon as they are made. I am always updating my webpage with new hangers hot off the press and marking the ones that have sold.
I have answered all the above questions via private e-mail and I hope my anwers have helped.
Although these don't go in the garden I have attached some of my other kreations for you all.

If you have the time i too would love the answers to the questions above. What did you use to string them with that is so strong??? and where did you find the special beads like hummingbirds etc. They really are beautiful!

Kim, I am also interested in where you bought the hummingbirds. Haven't done macrame in years, but seeing your work could renew my interest with beads!! Lovely work

Kim, those are gorgeous - I have pretty much the same questions as everyone else -wire or fishing line or? -If you don't mind sharing. I also did a lot of macrame years ago and had plan to do some plants hanger, but I love your beaded ones! Just what I need - another project!!

Kim,those are really beautiful. I would also like to know where you got your hummingbirds and beads. Would you mind if I made a couple for my MIL. She has a big deck that needs some *dressing* up. A couple of those would look great there.
