Is there a "stack" or roof penetration? There might be water coming in around that. Maybe a vent for a hot water heater?? Even Tankless water heater need vents. How is condition of roofing? You have to identify the source of the water and fix that, then you can do topical removal (with proper protection, etc.). I have used Tea Tree oil successfully to remove and prevent. BUT, it has strong odor (non-toxic, just darn strong!). There are other treatments, but you don't want the spores being spread around or as little as possible.

I was outside planting seeds and checked mailbox before coming in. Wow it must be Christmas. Look what Susan sent. I love all of it. I've never grown Acidanthera before, but will definitely get these planted tomorrow. I love black eyed susan vine but it never makes seeds for me so I don't usually have any. And all the other stuff will really come in handy with my planting. Thank you so much.

peren.al I have tried so many over the years I can't quite recall which helenium I currently have, but I think off the top of my head it's Dancing Flames. I wouldn't call the soil exactly moist, but it's not dry either. I suppose relatively speaking it's slightly moist. This area was originally a shady garden and did have somewhat moist soil, but over the last few years has gotten sunnier due to tree loss, and then of course this year it's almost full sun with the big tree culling by the utility company, so it is slightly drier than it has been. If I recall correctly every helenium I've grown (all in this bed) have been slightly floppy. I do think next year I will try and generally cut back the spent blooms on at least one of the clumps and see how it reblooms. kitasei and PM2, I'm not sure why I never thought to just cut back the daylily foliage. I guess I just never knew you could, although I should have known since daylilies are in general so tough. Lol I might still feel compelled to pull out the little pieces of brown foliage! I've seen several people give bad reviews here to Gilbert Wild but I buy a lot of my daylilies from them and have never had any issues with them. They are reasonably priced and for the most part good-sized plants, and they have all done well for me. I think Oakes might be a good source too - have heard goo things about them. I've never used them though because they are a bit pricey, and the ones I was willing to pay for always seem to be sold out! PM2 my rudbeckia is triloba, which I believe is not a perennial - I could be wrong but I do think it's an annual. So it doesn't spread like the perennial rudbeckia. BUT... But it does reseed very freely. Last year I didn't have time to get to this bed either and it kind of took over.... I was better at deadheading later in the season though, or so I thought lol. I didn't have nearly as much in bloom this year, but there is a carpet of small plants - perhaps it is a biennial? I do love it though, I really do. I couldn't even be mad that it took over the bed last year because it was so glorious. But I plan to deadhead again, and later this season will just rip out a lot of it. But I will always have some because I love it so much. :) Dee

Yes, I do go through the accumulation of the past year’s paperwork and digital files. Digital files I try to clean out throughout the year. Mostly my files are receipts that can be trashed, and I empty and re-set for the next year. I keep folders separate for home improvement receipts, warranties, and a few other things, especially if we will need them at tax time. We also have a folder in a handy spot we both use for anything we receive (such as a donation receipt) that will be used for taxes and it gets shoved in there to be sorted later. ’..because my DH & I have different organizational styles’ describes us completely. I can generally find something in a couple of minutes. DH can find something b/c he swears he’s organized but it will take him a while. i was looking for something in a file of his one day a while back; he had 4 folders for the same thing. He forgets he already has a folder for example for our vehicle insurance and makes another. One thing I do need to sort through once again…old photos. I made a pass through them after I retired but did not remove and throw away many of them that I should. Many are in albums (old pre-digital days) but many are not. I bshould start a new thread about digitizing old photos. I could use advice on a good, fast way to do this.
