I don't think a calligraphy style would work with cross stitch and would lend more to a satin stitch style. I would look at your word processing programs and font styles. If you use the word art feature in Microsoft Word or whatever WordPefect may have (haven't kept current with that program), I think you may find what you want. With a bit of playing around with the programs, you just might get what you want. If you still want cross stitch, get graph paper and superimpose it on the letters to get the stitch line and pattern.

Thanks nosoccermom. I will definitely ask about that. Today I measure to see how many of which length I will need. Then pop them off an email and hope that they will work with me. I am doing a "face lift" so I am hoping I can justify the cost by explaining to myself that I am not buying cabinets. Plus, the beauty of the things should draw the eye away from the dang arch on the cabinet doors.

Thanks bldrjanet. That third light, the black with the cage - we have that or almost identical in another spot in the cottage already. You're reading my mind. I do like the lights with the Edison bulbs for aesthetics. But I find they don't give off much light and it is a yellow/amber light which isn't really what we want. I like your other choices too. I'm leaning towards a darker finish on the fixtures - my husband is Ok with the ones I showed in a brushed nickel finish. I've looked at similar to your second photo as well on many occasions. I like everything about it but what I'm struggling with is what to coordinate with it. That's why I keep hoping to find a collection - so that the decisions are basically made for me. The idea of mixing and matching intimidates me. I see designers do it on HGTV, but I don't have enough faith in my abilities to make it look planned. And lighting is expensive. I really don't want to make a mess of it. Thank you for your suggestions.
