Will the hole have to be recut or is it just slid over inside the sink cutout?

Nope, I wish it was slid over in the sink. The whole thing (sink and cut out) is over an inch too far to the right. I did end up calling and leaving a message. Let's hope that they actually call me back.

I guess I'm really asking. Was it my fault not to specify that it should have been centered in the cabinet? I guess I just assumed that it would be.

It would be unusual and a special request for the sink to not be centered in the sink base. They messed up. Let us know what they have to say.

Did you check? Maybe the sink IS centered on the sink base but not the window. Could be a cabinet thing. Sometimes when using stock sizes, a better layout will result in a slightly off center sink base. If that happens to me, I will split the difference on the window and sink. Or the customer will get a sink like a big/little and an offset faucet, where it won't show up as much.

Did they have you sign the template paperwork?

For everyone else...when you get your top templated, insist on going over everything with them. My fabricator has aabout 4 sheets of paperwork to sign off on everything to avoid mistakes. We have not had a problem in a realllllly long time. It asks for brand, color, edge, overhang, radius amounts, sink, reveal, seam location, range type, splashes or not...etc

Did you sign off on it? Have they been paid?

can you post a photo? my cabs were installed not centered under the window, they were off by about 1/2inch. when all was said and done it is fine and i do not even notice it. post pics so we can see.

Here we go, some pics. The cabinets are supposed to be sprayed next weekend. (I wanted to make sure that I liked the color with the color I chose.) Incidently, we don't like the faucet now. We bought it almost eight years ago! Now we're stuck with it. :) The quartz place called back and then told me they centered it on the window. That made it look even worse. Am I just too picky?

On a good note, we love the ticor sink. The installers asked where I got it. Also, picked it up on ebay through galaxy tool for only 175.

The view that people will have of the sink will be from the angle to the right of the dishwasher, and as it is the sink will actually look as if it's left of center from that angle believe it or not. Moving it another inch left would just exacerbate that, plus give you another inch of floor to spill water from drippy dishes as you put them in the dishwasher. :)

I think it's totally fine and I'd leave it as is if it were my kitchen.

Personally, I don't think you'll notice it once you start really using the kitchen. I'd leave it too.

Honestly not a big deal at all! I am really picky about symmetry and I am not sure I would have noticed if you didn't mention it. My sink is not centered with our light fixture above the sink and it drives me nuts so this would too if it was an issue.

I don't really notice it, esp. if you take the green tape off. However, the right drawer and cabinet door look misaligned, but that may be an optical illusion because the door isn't completely closed.

my sink is off center too and i do not even notice it, pic pasted below. i think yours is fine, would not worry about it.

I'd be annoyed but since it's in the corner, nobody is going to see it head on.
It'll be okay if you can't get it fixed (it really is nice...).

Now, if you can't get it fixed but it really bothers you, you might be able to realign the cabinet doors and drawer faces over slightly so that the gap lines up with the faucet. Depends on just how much overlay you've got there.

(And you're not really stuck with that faucet! Faucet changes aren't too bad!)

If they centered it on the window then, I think they need their eyes tested. It is no were near centered on that window. It is not centered in the cabinet either. It would annoy me a lot to if it were my kitchen. I am trying to get over my problem of needing things perfectly level, aligned and/ or symmetrical. I try to tell my self that it's not important in the grand scheme of things. I'm not quite there yet.
I would certainly ask them to come back and measure it out though just so they have to acknowledge that they messed up.
Most likely, if you don't point it out to others, they will never know it. Unless it is one of my siblings that sees it because we are all bad that way. I think it's a genetic thing or something happened to us inour childhood and we all need therapy.

I would just paint the latch on the window white or change it to a white one, and keep the faucet turned a bit. If this were the focal point of a symmetrical cabinet run it would bother me a lot more, but in this case I would probably live with it pretty easily.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm weird about symmetry. Think it has to do with my obsession with building (colonial) homes with legos throughout my childhood. I like things that look even. But, I'm getting used to it. It's definitely not a focal piece. Just a window. I'm going to have my husband call over there when he gets home.

I was wondering, if they do redo the counters... I shouldn't have to pay anything for it, right? She said they would have to redo all the counters since the pieces would come from two different dye lots and may not match.

Maybe, they will offer us some cash back. Not sure.
