LMRinc, For the first several years a baby / infant / toddler isn't going to majorly impact your fridge space. Whether you make or buy baby food - it's going to be small containers that you are cycling through constantly. If you are expressing, you likely will be freezing milk in small (I would say cabinet /pantry space is the first to be impacted. First with the bottles (which you will need even if you are breastfeeding), then with the small lidded snack containers and tiny kid plates. Also most young couples do not bulk buy goldfish and cheerios. The first major impact to your fridge will be an increased volume / throughput in fruit and dairy. This is particularly true when your toddler is in the full fat dairy stage but the adults consume low/no fat dairy. My children are 11 and 9 and *I* continue to be the reason my refrigerator is crazy. I also like to keep my baking supplies in fridge & freezer so that impacts my usable space. Particularly, I am a condiment nut and I cook a lot of asian / indian so I go beyond just the fancy mustard. What I did have to make room for was the "regular" condiments and food -- ketchup, yellow mustard, dill pickle slices, string cheese and, I hate to admit it, american cheese. My freezer space has been impacted at my children have grown. Their palate's have actually de-evolved as they have gotten older so I do keep a stock of "kid friendly" frozen food. Hope this helps! .

some people hate to read-- having so much in your description itself is a turn off to them and some of your information is repetitive... I agree that you have a lovely vista of the lake--but you mention it in almost every paragraph...that is just overkill to me... School info is always helpful because transfers might want to know that info you might mention what type of insulation you added, how large the water heaters are and if they are gas or electric, mention that architectural roof lowers ins premiums (at least in my area) regarding what your friend said about the value of your media room--if you counted that 30K into the price of your house, you probably need to readjust most people who can afford to spend that much money would probably want to make their own choices--not use yours--and media equipment has a short shelf life--in that something new/cutting edge/highly rated is old-hat in 6 mo... frankly I would like shot of master closet (if it is large and has storage)...and more shots of your kitchen...and other storage areas like maybe in garage...people love storage... you have multiple shots of seating area that frankly most people would not use daily unless they had a very large family and/or hosted lots of big parties...but people use their kitchen every day so add more of kitchen...put in shots of other bathrooms as well... take a shot of what you would see SITTING in the breakfast room -- better close view of the outside area show that the kitchen is not as closed in as the picture makes it appear the master bath shot with both mirrors is not that great--take it from an angle or show the master shower closeup--you have two of sink area I might consider moving the bed in master bedroom so that it is on wall facing the windows/view-- it looks very crowded on the wall it is on--makes the room which I guess if fairly large feel cramped... take a shot from behind the couch in your family room looking through the French doors over the patio deck to the lake...that looks like a wonderful view...that is definitely a selling point to highlight you might consider showing the parking area for 8 cars that you mention as well as your dock-- show the lovely patio area under cover down by the lake--only a portion of it shows in the large shot looking back at the house-- frankly that outside stair case is pretty intimidating since it is so high--a family with young children or older members might consider it too challenging--I would omit it from your set and let them see AFTER they get to the house you do have photos that aren't really that attractive because they were taken in winter and foliage was dead-- update ALL photos or omit the ones that are from past season...your front door photo could use some colorful plants in pots by front steps as well--and take it from little closer in... I like your colors and you have it well staged--it is a lovely home --I don't want my comments to come across as too critical--they are my opinion--that's all

Rococogirl--I do plan to figure out the hood height and oven top alignment to see if it makes sense to do something with that line. I'm not sure I understand what a utensil rail is. Lavender--Thanks for that photo. I never took a good look at the fabrics there before. Jilly--that space has bugged me for a long time. It's a 3/4" thick end cabinet panel so my options are somewhat limited. There will only be crown molding at the top. That's it. It needs something there. I'm planning to hang 2 pendants over the 50" long, 44" wide peninsula in front of the wall. That'll cover part of the blankness. I need the counterspace too much on the peninsula for buffet service to wrap the cabinets from the dining room around on that wall. Some shelves might work there, depending on the pendants I choose. I don't want the area to be too busy. Here's the view of the peninsula and DR cabs from the DR. The artwork on the DR wall is just simulated for rendering purposes. I don't have anything planned to go on that wall yet. The counterspace under that wall is about 13.5" deep so I can't put anything with too much depth on the wall or it'll hit people in the head. The counterspace on the left with the uppers above is about 26" deep and will be used as the beverage area during parties. Does that help answer your question? Have any ideas for that space?

Looking at it from an objective view, I would probably have your 3-yr old and newborn share a room. I think you're right...it's not really fair to hold a whole room for someone that's only there a couple days a month. However, it seems that a 3-yr old and a 9-yr old are in much different places developmentally. A 3-yr old really doesn't care if they have their own room and whatever you do is probably going to be fine with them. I don't think that's so much the case with the 9-yr old. I was kind of in the same situation a couple years ago. My second son was born when my oldest was 2-yrs old. At that time he was sleeping in our small bedroom and the medium sized one was for my husband's two daughters when they came during the summer and at Christmas. I had the same conflict that it wasn't really fair to hold a whole room for people who are only in our home a couple weeks a year. But eventually decided on having my kids share for a couple reasons: 1) my son was only 2 yrs, while my husband's daughters were older. It mattered more to them to have some privacy (especially since this wasn't their home) than it did to my son, 2) and I thought they would actually like being together rather than being alone in their room, and 3) I didn't really think that my newborn would really need his own room, as he would probably be wherever I was. I did switch their rooms though, so my kids had the one that was a bit bigger. Only one daughter was coming at the time and it seemed to make more sense since she was only one person. I can see a few reasons why it would make sense to make sure they have their own room - such as if your oldest child is a poor sleeper and if having a baby in the room would cause her to wake more often during the night or not be able to nap. But if it's just the 'not-fair' issue, I'd personally let it go, as I just can't imagine that it would even enter into your young kid's minds that they're being treated unfairly. Then it just really becomes an issue of making sure your kids are being treated equally, and not really about what's best for your family (although I'm not saying that putting them in separate rooms is not what's best for your family). Just my opinion.
