Hate to say it but most of us will tell you to stay away from Singers.They aren't even close to the way they used to be years ago.

Try Janome,Brother,or go to a sewing machine store in your area and test drive what they have/That way you get knowledgeable people,good machines that are backed up with warrantys.

I'm sure others will be along to give their opinions.
