need advice on acid free foam core

Hi, I am not a scrapbooker (am a crafter tho) but I am trying to replace the frames on some of my photographs which are getting reddish spots on them. They are anywhere from 30 years old up to the present (my children). My understanding is that they need to be have an acid free board behind them instead of the cardboard that is there now. But I can't locate acid free cardboard. Is foam core acid free? Where can I buy it? How do I know it is acid free? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. toni
