I'm with everyone suggesting a simple creamy tile. Your cabinets look very white, so a cream will add texture without busy-ness. I have a creamy crackle subway and the crackle is very subtle once you get all the tile installed; you have to get in very close to discern it, but I suppose it adds interest. That beautiful glass tile looks a lot like Sonoma Tantrum. It is incredibly beautiful in person, with gorgeous colors, but a little would go a long way. Maybe an accent here and there. The only diva in my kitchen is me, and that's stretching it. I usually err on the side of plain and quiet. At first I thought doing that in my reno was a huge mistake but as I add a vase of daffodils or a bottle of olive oil with a colorful label, I've discovered that I can brighten up my neutral canvas very easily and, most importantly, changeably.

While I do not grow 'Clifford's Stingray' I do have a very similar looking 'Loyalist' sport in 'Revolution' and it grows like gangbusters. It's unfortunate that it has a penchant for throwing green sports but having said that, they actually are quite nice in their own right, nice rounded leaves and upright growing habit and is also very vigorous and quite striking, just not as flashy. I have quite a few members of the Hyacinthina family and in general have found them to be quite vigorous. That said, I periodically have issues with this family being prone to root and crown rot if the growing medium isn't to their liking (most of mine are in pots) I transplanted a couple of 'Hanky Panky' this morning that were just eking along and gave them a loser, better aerated mix and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a full recovery. My 'Revolution' is getting too big for where it is so it will go under the knife, again, along with 'Gold Standard', 'Risky Business' and 'Albopicta', all Hyacinthina family members and all quite vigorous. If you had bad luck with this variety and are tempted to put something else in it's spot in the garden you might want to consider looking outside this family.... Pieter

Your entire kitchen and dining area is neutral, so I applaud you for wanting to add interest by using an actual color. But in order for it to not be jarring or "cartoonish' you might want to keep the elements you already have in the room in mind when choosing a color. I think the reason you don't care for the "stingray" is that it has so much green in it. The suggestion made above for the Stratton blue would work fine. But it appears that you have tried every shade of aqua/blue green imagineable. Perhaps that is not what you are truly drawn to?? The color I posted is Sherwin Williams Waterloo. It has the depth to give you interest and it goes beautifully with all the wood in the room as well as white cream etc. Take a look on the Sherwin Williams site and see the colors you like and then see what they recommend for coordinating colors. Sometimes that is a method to visualize your room and possibilities for other colors. https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW9141-waterloo#/9141/?s=coordinatingColors&p=PS0
