This was the worst trade I've ever done. The seeds finally arrived with no protection and looked mostly crushed. The homemade packets spilled out most of the 2-3 seeds in each packet. Half the packets looked like they contained only chaff. What little information written on the packets was largely illegible. I threw everything out.

Howdee there Awesome time off with the hubby. We had a lovely well deserved vacation on the coast. My mom has a house in Crescent city and she is always wanted me to come and use it but hubby and I just love Gold beach. I am so happy all the mailers are getting back home and with such speed. I only host these two swaps and they are more fun each year. With this being the 10th year for the Acres Edible swap I really wanted it to be out standing. In past years there has been trivia and awards and such fun. Perhaps next year :) Now its off to sort seeds from my seed orders for my garden season. I will start my tomatoes and peppers, eggplant etc. next month. I grow about 200 extra plants each year and sell them locally. With the 100 assorted plants I start each year for my self for my garden it sure becomes a jungle in the green house. Happy gardening Acres

I just received the most WONDERFUL box from Miss Sue! It was so big, it took 2 kids to carry it. :) And MERCY, I just about fell out of my chair when I saw how much it cost to mail! Prices are getting ridiculous!! I tried to keep track of everything as I unwrapped them, but I had 4 little helpers (the girls helped me...the boys couldn't have cared less- they know they're going to be recruited to help plant later on! LoL!) so I didn't get everything written down. But everything looks great, nothing is wilted! Which was SO surprising, considering the heat! I know there were 2 mini roses, red & blue salvia, many daylilies, 6 succulents, dianthus, lantana, rosemary & lavender. The rosemary & lavender made the box smell SOOOO good! If I've forgotten to mention anything, please forgive me! Thank you SO MUCH, Miss Sue! You outdid yourself with a WONDERFUL box, and I absolutely LOVE everything!

I'm glad the seeds are making their way to their new homes. There were some of the more unusual seeds this year so that was great - enough common varieties and unusual ones as well. The mail seems to be moving along quickly, but if someone doesn't have their seeds in another day or two, check the delivery confirmation numbers above. If for any reason someone doesn't receive their seeds, let me know! I hope I managed to put some candy in each envelope. I was trying to be careful to do that. (Riley got a dog biscuit because he was a theme! LOL) I winter sowed 16 milk jugs yesterday and today with more to follow. I know many are doing the same. If you don't already know about it, check out the Winter Sowing Forum here on GardenWeb. Winter sowing has always worked really well for me. Jeanne
