Lonicera sempervirens, and all other twining vines, will climb better on vertical wires than horizontal. I would put a nice strong screw eye into the pole at a height of about 8 or ten feet, then drive stakes into the ground in an arc about 1 or 2 feet from the base of the pole. Slant the stakes away from the pole, and fasten wires from each stake to the screw eye on the pole. I would use braided wire rope instead of single strand wire because the braided rope will be a little rougher and thus easier fort he vine to climb. Plant the vine near the stakes, and it will climb the wires, hiding the pole. I would not try to go too far up the pole, because the power company is more likely to spray or cut the vine if it gets near the wires. I think you have a fair chance of keeping the vine if it isn't too tall and looks like you are maintaining it. I think Trumpet Creeper (Campsis radicans) would be another very good choice, and could climb the pole unaided. It is an aggressive spreader, but as long as the area around the pole gets mowed, you don't have to worry about it spreading. Trumpet Creeper is a larger vine and blooms in late summer when more hummingbirds will be around instead of early summer, when hummingbirds are nesting and may not be present in a suburban area (if that is where you live)

I like to use them on cards as an embellishment or to fasten two layers of paper together (like if you had 2 punched flowers and wanted to use an eyelet in the middle as your flower center and layer the flowers together). They are also nice if you want to hang something heavier like beads & charms from a card, the eyelet will keep your paper from tearing. You need a small 1/8 hole punch to punch your holes in the card & you need an eyelet setting tool which is kinda like a fat nail. Then you just slip the eyelet thru your punched hole, turn your project over and lay it on a firm surface. I use a ceramic tile with a piece of t-shirt material laid over it to keep the eyelet from getting the paint scratched off. Then put the tip of your setter in the hole on the back of the eyelet and give it 2 or 3 firm wacks with a hammer. This will flatten the back out. That's it- easy peasy! There are more expensive types of setters that work like a stapler but they are not really necessary.

hi caroline, you don't have to punch through your page, you can simply put the eyelet on the tag...first, you punch through the tag, turn the tag over, and place the eyelet through the hole, so that the hollow end is sticking up through the paper, take your eyelet setter and place it in the hole of the eyelet, and hit the end of the setter with a hammer, gently. this should "set" your eyelet by bending the tube part down. you can then attach the tag with any adhesive you choose, you can run wire, ribbon, hemp, string, yarn, whatever you choose through the hole to give it a finished look, but it will be easier to that before you attach the tag on the page. hope this helps!! make sure you use a mat under your tag when you are setting your eyelet! also, setting eyelets is much easier on a wooden table versus a plastic table, the kitchen counter works great! again, use a mat, like a self healing mat.

No it's not but very pretty. The one I'm looking for alternates the blocks. One haves a pink gingham heart and the next block is white eyelet . and has 3 sizes of eyelet lace around it. The last block is white muslin with the little lady's name and birthday emroidied on it.
