Sorry for the delay...I have not checked this thread in a while. I had posted on the Landscape Design forum with most people suggesting ebay or to custom make them. I can't believe you are looking for the seasonal flags as well. Are you saying the images were all black like what would be in a coloring book? I have a hard time remembering what the flags looked like, but I think they were many colors and quite detailed as far as the images were. However, your description sounds sort of familiar. I remember the images and flag colors to be suggestive of the seasons without the stereotypical flower, sun, pumpkin and snow-scene of other seasonal flags. The wheat one sounds similar but I'm not sure about the others. The following is part of a reply that I posted on the Landscape Design forum from early May: "The one I seem to remember is Winter. It did not have the typical snowman or christmas tree motif that most seasonal flags have. I think the colors were white, light purple and maybe a sage green. Not the usual winter flag colors, but very cool in tone and feeling. I think it had a rectangular field of harlequin pattern and some item in the middle like a family crest or something similarly shaped." I seem to remember the Smith & Hawken ones being about $200 for the four...they might have included a nice pole and mount as well, not sure. We didn't buy them because we didn't have a place for them at the time. How much were the ones at Target? Let me know if you remember any other details. Thanks, Don

Dear Tanya, You should trim the paper to fit so that it least disturbs the pattern. If possible making it as unnoticable as possible, by trimming all the edges alike. Once your pictures are mounted more than likely the background will not be as noticable and thereby hiding the part you had to trim. As for journaling on the paper, if the pattern is really noticable I would attach a plain but matching color solid piece to do the journaling on, but it is possible to write directly on pattern paper. We would like to be able to buy our paper here in France, but there is a really poor choice (only some paper pizzaz and very expensive) So it is a good way for us to have original and acid-free paper using color copy. We can copy fabrics, wrapping paper (some are really cute but not acid free), a friend of mine copied dried leaves, I saw in a magazine, you can put little things in a clear plastic drawer and copy them (like jelly beans, buttons, cookies... funny isn't it ?) but not tried yet. You can scan your papers too, but in my opinion is a lower quality, but I suppose it depends on your scanner and printer! OK - bumping this back to the top. We've been back in the States for a few days, and here are my observations: As I mentioned above, only one person slightly snarked at me for being American while we were in Scotland. Once we arrived in London, though - it was all fine and dandy, until we were seated next to a group of Canadians at "our" corner pub. They were insistent to their (and our) server that they were NOT Americans. When all conversation in the place turned to the footy match on the TV, they and we shared some common ground with rooting for Tottenham Hotspur. When they deduced that I was American, they were quick to point out that they felt sorry for me, and that they were glad not to be Americans. Make of that what you will. No Londoners had any problem with my Americanness.
