Anyone as bad as I am?

I was wondering if anyone was as bad as I am about not getting film developed? I love to use Eckerds photo but that gets expensive. Where do you get your film developed that is good quality and reasonalbe, pratically cheap, prices. I have about 17 rolls to be developed. So, any ideas or suggestions. I know, I am terrible, but they just seem to pile up. HELP!

I'm not so bad about developing, just leaving them in the packages after I've looked at them!! I guess that has been a good thing. Those that I did manage to get in albums many years ago are getting ruined becasue they were the magnetic albums. So, I have multiple boxes of pictures still in packages - and I take a lot of pictures too! I prefer Costco (formally Price Club) for my developing. The prices are good and so is the quality as far as I can tell!

I generally use Wal-Mart. They use Fujicolor paper, which is supposed to be one of the best (according to the folks on the photography forum). I get 24 roll double prints for $7.46. They also include an index print, which I like to use in my negative albums. Easy to tell which negatives they are without having to hold them to the light. HTH

I still have my stool too :), and I agree on the universal access sink height, which is in between low vanity (31 ish) and tall vanity (36) height. Its hard to say without knowing the layout of the bathroom whether the wheelchair accessible sink is feasible (say if the bathroom itself, isnt.) If you are in the framing stage you may want to consider both the layout and such things as blocking for handrails and such. It may seem premature, but my parents moved into a new house when I was in first grade and still live there. Now at 81 and 85 there are some real accessibility issues with the baths (and stairs) in a house that my parents refuse to leave. Watching my mother navigate some parts of the house is like watching someone climbing a rock wall...its not fun. I think you are really taking a lot of consideration if you are considering making modifications for your young children, so, look into making some accomodations for your parents (and yourself!) as you age, while you are in the process.

The photos are very hard to see detail for sure. Uba-tuba is generally a stone that can be spot polished on -site. Repolish the entire piece-no way. First -off any fabricator who says a type of stone will be the same or cookie cutter doesnt know stone. Every slab I have ever seen is a unique piece period.I never call features on a stone defects but for example a fabricator friend of mine who regularly gets in containers of slabs examines each and every one that comes thru the door. He notes any marks(eyesore)(damage) with a wax marker.He documents every single feature on every slab. In your case he probably would have rejected this slab or tryed to refinish it if it wasnt resined(dyed). To me and again it is hard to see the details in your slab. I see some marks that look like someone tried to repair the marks or scratches on the slab but couldnt match the original finish. Maybe the slab was purchased from salvage but it doesnt look good even in the blurry pics. If the damages on the slab are not all over the place and the slab hasnt been resined a bonafide stone refinisher that is familar with polishing granite on site could probably repair this including the holes. A good refinsher will use a clear adhesive that will not be noticeable after the repair. A color matched blob of polyester epoxy will stand out if not properly done. Go to another fabricator and take a look at their slabs and you will see the difference. Talk to them and I think you will see a difference again. Thanks for that, Jasdip! I somehow figured that out right around the time I posted here last nite. I posted it over on my usual RMG forum so the folks over there can reclaim their "real" names too! But I also agree with Brandon about the graphics! And without the “subject” at the top of each reply, it’s difficult, at best, to quickly scroll down a thread and see the “individual” replies—they all just kind of “blend together!” (And in the past I used to sometimes have several threads open at the same time in different windows, and now, without the subject by each reply, the only way for me to figure out which thread I’m looking at is to scroll all the way up to the top of the window to look at the subject.) And ditto on the fact that you can no longer tell which threads you’ve already read! The “subject” used to “change color” after you had clicked on a thread, so you could easily “check in” and see if there had been any NEW posts since the last time you looked! Now you need to either click on the top thread and actually take the time to look at the last reply, or, I guess, you need to try to remember which thread was on top and “how many hours ago” the most recent post was! Say what? There’s no way I’m gonna remember “how many hours ago” the last post was—and, in any event, that CHANGES! It used to give the actual time (EST) when someone posted or replied, and that I could remember. More importantly, it gave the “number of replies” by each post, and that was fairly easy to remember for the most recent post, but since the “subject” changed color, you really didn’t even need to try to remember that—unless you had deleted your cookies! I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s just a lot harder to work with now—and takes a lot longer to try to see what you want to see. That, and a lot of other things, especially the fact that some old, long posts, that had a LOT of good info, are suddenly truncated, and all that good (and it took people a lot of time and effort to post it) info is now just GONE! I have a lot of good friends on GW, and I REALLY want it to go on—forever, but the more difficult and time consuming it becomes to use, I suspect more and more people will slowly disappear. No it is not a acceptable installation. When the boxes of tile were opened and found to be poorly mounted on the sheets I would bring it to your attention and give you the option to select another mosaic or pay me by the hour to make it look acceptable. It's one thing to adjust a couple of tiles per sheet but there is plenty of poor quality mosaics out there that can turn a 2 hour installation into a nightmare and the tile setter can not be expected to absorb that cost. Never the less it should have been discussed prior.

I also get my film developed at Walmart. I always have 36 exposures and I get doubles for around $4.00. Kris, is that Walmart price for one hour devolping? I have been very satisfied with Walmarts film proccessing. I too used to be really bad about letting my film pile up before taking it in, but since I have been scrapbooking I have gotten a lot better about it.

I use the Kodak APS camera/film! The pictures are gorgeous BUT the film and the developing are a bit more costly! I always send mine out to York Photo Labs and I have been more than thrilled with the results! Heidi

I don't know where you are, but if you get doubles at my Wal-Mart, all you have to do is tell them you want "Comp. Price" & if there is a Drug-Co or anywhere that has free doubles, you get your doubles free. You spend a lot of money on film & developing so I hope you get your pics in a good album that won't destroy them over time.

I always get my film developed RIGHT AWAY! I can't help it...most pics I take are of when my Marine fiance is home so I'm always eager to have the pics in my hands by the time he has to leave again. I NEED those photos!

I've had some trouble with Walmart...but mainly about the service. They charge for 1-hour and advertise for 1-hour...but it actually takes about FOUR hours! It could just be the Walmart by me (I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada). But, they do have one of those punch cards where your 11th film processing is free.

I don't know if this helps, but I take my film to this Asian mall near me. These little camera shops do excellent developing and charge about $8 Canadian for 1-hour and doubles on 24 exposures...so about $5 American? Anyway, my point is: don't rule out the little shops if you have them by you. They might offer a better deal and good quality. Good luck!

I use Walgreens and they always have the 2nd set free deal. I usually pay about $6 or $7 for the 24 exposure (with doubles). I get 3 sets and the 3rd set is about another $4 but it's cheaper than doing it separately at $.25 per picture.

I've been tempted to try Walmart, but Walgreens is just too convenient for me. To me, convenience is a big factor because I have to lug around my 2 1/2 year old when I go.
