Am I a bad parent to consider a tall vanity in children's bath?

In all seriousness, DH and I are building a house (with much DIY effort). We will only have the first floor completed at first, and will finish the upstairs space (dormers, etc) and basement in time as we can $. In the meantime, the three bedrooms downstairs are it. We have a one year old (so far, and bio clock ticking:). For now, she and guests (read: grandparents visiting) will share a J&J bath. When upstairs is finished, she will likely want to move upstairs and we will have two guest bedrooms with shared bath downstairs. I would really really like to put the taller kitchen-counter size vanity in that bath, given its eventual use, but a small child will be using it right now. Am I crazy to even consider a taller vanity? It will be a shallower 18" depth if that makes a difference. I've never gone through those toddler/step stool/toilet training, etc years, so I'm a little clueless on that aspect. Any advice most helpful.
