Oh my I am so bored

I settled the problem with my home owners association, now what, no one to fight with. LOL Still working with wallpaper, here is my latest. I call him grumpy, he reminds me of my late husband. Just joking.....I loved him dearly.

No, still bored, but am going on a road trip for a few days. I will stay at a luxury hotel. Maybe see if there are any rooms left on Mt Magazine in Arkansas. They have a good chef and a nice club where I can indulge in a strawberry daiquiriÃ¢ÂÂ and watch the people.

My problem is the family. I have to do something to get them out of my head.

Glad to read I'm not the only one feeling crazy over winter... I'm just about finished with choosing seeds, am looking to purchase a new load of topsoil (for my raised beds) and wishing the snow and ice would disappear... I have an assortment of veggies growing in low hoop houses - but the temps have been so cold, I haven't looked inside since the big storm on Sunday. The snow and ice didn't damage the hoops, so perhaps my salad bar will be ok. So far, we're harvesting lettuces, various greens, beets, carrots, chard, radishes, cabbage, but the broccoli has given up. Pn - I'm interested in your minerals seminar - any links? And fascinated to hear that I might be able to overwinter fava beans - can't say I'm a huge fan, but maybe they taste better from the garden. :) Thanks, Cindy

Hi Squirelette. Good to hear you are not swimming yet! Talked to the town water foreman today -helives across from me. He said we've had 8" of rain in the last week and that many people in Ponoka have flooded basements. Those with sump pumps hooked up to the sewer line are creating havoc with are water treatment plant as overloading the system. The river is dangerously close to flooding. I've pumped about 100 gals out of my pond again today and checked the pump box--was dry thank goodness. Am just going to go pull up part of my dricore flooring in the basement as can hear the water underneath it. I had to shake out the pear tree near my pond today as the branches were bending with all the water. It's currently stopped raining. The water guy said we've got enough rain now to last us till the end of summer. I said what summer! Hope your hubby is feeling better. I have a job lined up--not what I want to do but it's work. Will be working with autistic youth in a group home. I am oh so done with this kind of work but it's better than having no income and I'll just keep looking for something else. Take care. Patti

I have ES growing in 2 different places: one is on the Notrh-East side of the house and another one is on the West-facing side. And they are so different that almost feels like 2 different varieties. This is how ES from West side looks like (it is smaller, leaves are somewhat paler, but blooms reliably every year): And this is my ES from the Notrh-East side. In fact , these are 3 hydrangeas planted in a row. They are much taller, with dark-green leaves and have fewer flowers between three of them than the one growing on the West side. Also, their flowers are mostly hidden in the foliage. These ones get more attention than their sister: they get fertilized with liquid 20-20-20 at least once a month, while the one above gets a handful of granular fertilizer in spring and thatÃ¢ÂÂs it: This post was edited by green_go on Sat, Jul 26, 14 at 22:24

1Kgrace345, I kept going back and forth pondering over getting a Presto canner or the All American...I really could have gotten the Presto many years earlier, but I wanted to save my money and just wait. I have two mirro canners that I have had since I was married in 1970 that my grandmother gave to me that she used and they were literally falling apart. The handles were gone, and they no longer had handles to replace them, so I was having to lift the pot by the hot metal...last year I burned my hand really bad...but I kept on canning. I just bought those new gloves made out of well, what ever that is...my brain just backfired...I hate when that happens...darn it. My husband (behind my back) took them both to the dump...that made me really MAD because they were my grandmothers, and I would have like to have kept them for old times sake, anyways. But, he bought me this new one today..and I just about had a flying flip when he said we were going to town to get one...I got ready faster than lighting! I understand how you would still feel like you were a proud parent of your All American, lkgrace!! LOL If my husband wasn't looking at me on the way home I would have petted mine...LOL!!!

Well, Emma - I love my family very much, and love to spend time with them, but.......some family members don't feel the same about me - oh, well - I no longer fret over it. If they have a problem with me, and wish to discuss it, I'm willing, BUT - it's their problem, not mine, so they can take a flying leap as far as I am concerned! In my case, it's jealousy over money - I made choices they didn't make - again, their problem, so I just whistle a merry tune and row my boat alone. Yes, I sometimes go in circles, but I'm in good company - my own self!!! LOL

My problem is there is not one of the 3 that I enjoy being with. I know that sounds like I am the problem but I am not. We started having problems when it became an all women family, husbands died or divorced. When we were younger and all married we had no problems. Now I simply don't like them, love them, but don't like to be with them. I blocked the email from 2 of them last week, the other doesn't do email.

My mantra is "This to shall pass" and it will.
