Wet ceilings in bathroom

I've recently noticed that the ceiling in our upstairs hallway bathroom is wet at certain times of day. I noticed it yesterday afternoon - the paint was bubbled and the ceiling around it was damp. Yesterday evening it had dried out and the bubbled paint shrunk back up, but this afternoon it is wet again. When I poked a hole in the bubbled paint, no water came out, so its not a lot of water pooling, but I don't know where it is coming from. We don't really use that bathroom, so it shouldn't be from the shower or anything like that. It hasn't rained in almost a week, so I don't think its anything coming through the roof. The upstairs is built into the attic, so maybe it is something to do with the temperature difference between the attic and the ceiling forming condensation? What could this be?
