Today is SWAP mail date!

Everyone have their packages set to go, or gone? Anxious to hear about all the goodies everyone sends each other! Are everyone's pictures back from the 4th? I'm looking for theme ideas for the next swap, also ideas on what price range we want to work with and how often we want to swap? Maybe every 4-5 weeks or so?

I love the idea of the swap! I did not get involved with the last one only because I knew that I would not have any 4th pictures! Should we toss around some topics: summer, flowers, butterflies, beach, vacations, weddings, baseball....tons of warm weather things!

Tracy and I have already done our swap. I was very happy with what I got. I am new to scrapbooking but am hooked. I have spent the last 3 days working on bridal pictures for my daughter and on 4th of July pictures. Jackie

Carol, I'm sure you knew I wasn't rushing you to get the packages mailed. Whether they arrive this week, next week or anytime thereafter really doesn't matter to me. I just wanted to share how excited I am about all the goodies to come. Reminds me of being a kid at Christmas. Remember how fun it was to count down how many days were left before Santa came to visit? You always knew the exact number and were beside yourself in anticipation. Since this is my first seed swap with the group and knowing how generous everyone can be, there is just no way to anticipate what's to come other than tons of seeds! Makes me salivate like Pavlov's pooch. Don't worry about balancing out the packets for me. I don't expect to get back the same amount I sent. I had extras, we had newbies so I sent plenty to go around. Thanks for all the effort you put into the swap. I know you work very hard to make wish lists a reality. Lynn

Just Reminder Crayon Quilt mail out date

OK, my kitties are all bundled up with postage and ready to go out. One thing I noticed to caution you guys about -- I messed up one (I kept that one...) but I tried to scrub off the crayon in one place (in the sink with dish soap). That worked "pretty good" but I noticed later that crayon from the pic had transferred in small smudges to other parts of the fabric. I thought I Had ironed them REALLY WELL so it made me a little concerned if people make a quilt and just throw it in the wash. I think I will use color catchers or synthrapol the first time I wash mine.

YES! I have definitely decided on the complementary fabric! I found some fabric at a local (local for me is half an hour's drive away!) small quilt shop. I've auditioned it with the blocks and I love it! Yesterday, while online, I found the same fabric on sale at the web link listed below. I was ecstatic because the store where I bought it only had a few fat quarters. I ordered two yards online because I can definitely use this fabric with other projects as well. Now I can't wait for summer vacation to put the flower quilt together! (Being a teacher, May and early June are insanely busy. All quilting goes on "hold"!!!) Yo Kay---Got mine yesterday late in the day. Love them all. Everyone did such a great job. I placed them all out on the bed and they look so pretty together. I think i will make more of my blocks to go all around the outside and fill the center area with the group blocks. Something like that. Or maybe a large appliqued block in the center?? Fun to play. We leave for Montana Tuesday, so very happy they arrived before we left.

When I was shopping for the 4th stuff, I noticed TONS of stuff with flowers and thought what a great swap idea that would be. It could be used for basically any season and/or holiday and there's sooooo much to choose from. I found the 4th stuff to be very limited. I got my package mailed yesterday, but was still shopping for it on Sunday!!

Another kind of funny point to all this -- I forgot to take pictures on teh 4th. Left my camera at home. Can you believe it? Now I have this 4th stuff coming to me with no pictures to crop. I'll have to save it for next year. :)

That is so funny that you forgot your camera on the fourth because so did I and we had each other for the swap. We could have swapped something different. I guess Kris did a good job of matching us up. Oh well, we will both be all set for next year. Betty

I wasn't your swap partner but put me in the "forgot to take my camera" club. What is worse due to weather problems here, we went to 4 different sets of fireworks! Duh!!!

Okay I am going to go ahead and admit this. My niece and nephew were away on the 4th with their dad, so I didn't go anywhere to take pictures. However they are going to be here this weekend, and since my boyfriend works in a fireworks store (can you tell where I'm headed here) we are going to have a fake 4th of July, where I can take photos of the kids and the fireworks. LOL Cheating I know, but I couldn't help myself. Also Alison and I have already swapped and she sent me a BUNCH of goodies, so since I didn't have much 4th of July stuff I am afraid that I am going to have to send her another small package to makeup for her kindness. Jackie and i got ours in the mail a little early and had em back before the 10th!! we got anxious anyway Jackie send me lots of wedding goodies since her daughter had just gotten married and i had told her that i was working on my engagment/wedding album and i just loved everything it was all so nice and the paper which i loved was perfect. i had never seen any like it. so thanks again Jackie.

In a Swap you get partnered with another person and you buy 'stuff' for each other and send it too each other 'swap'

Stuff includes paper, diecuts, stickers almost anything you can think of. You may have something at a store need you that is rare, or you may be able to get something that your partner wants.
