Thanks for your interest. Here's the "magnolia" floral fabric. It looks like magnolias in person, and less green. It's called "Diva Mist" and I think it's been discontinued, but I bought extra yardage. So I have an english roll arm chair in that fabric. It's kind of a big chair, and the print is "flamboyant", as my son said. To be honest, it is a bit much, but we've got it now, and once I throw some pillows with that fabric around, it'll pull things together. Hopefully. The two sofas are neutral and pale colored and luckily look really good with it. I'm trying to figure out what to do about the 2 chairs in the corner. Should they be the same as each other or different? Should I just stay with the taupe ones I already bought? This is what I'm asking myself. I'll always feel like I'm settling if i do keep them. If we're spending $$ on furniture now, I might as well get something I love. As far as the Studio line of RA goes, you make a good point. It is a lot cheaper, so I should wonder about the quality. It's sold only at their "retail locations", I was told. As far as I can tell, these are online only. The stores haven't even heard of them. Has anyone seen a chair similar to the Blanford chair by another manufacturer? As I said, I am a bit wary of making another online chair purchase. Personally, and maybe I'm crazy, but the comfort doesn't matter to me as much as the way it looks. There are plenty of other places people can sit. I like the look of the Blanford chair, and have seen very similar ones in English magazines. (I've also seen lots of weird chairs that I don't like, but I do like this a lot.) Unfortunately, I think I'm the kind of person who needs to see something in person before knowing if I'll like it....

Like Countrypatch, I have painted in more than one state-Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio,Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, But that may be "cheating" GRIN-We did Craft shows in all of those states, and I always painted during the shows! Have Lived and painted in 3, (Florida (always home) South Carolina, and Virginia) and vacation every year in Indiana.

Wow...thank you everyone!!! Just about brought tears to my eyes to get all this input. 100% agree with everyone on the clutter (but I wanted to show it how we truly live). I have had in mind to repaint something in the soft pale/blue gray like Amy from Texas mentioned. My sunroom is in a soft yellow, so something that would complement that without having to repaint the sun room also. Great idea to take everything down and look at the vintage things I have. I will take a pic of some of those items and grab some images from Pinterest. I've told my husband I'm okay with selling (we have a view of the bay, so it's hard to want to give that up), but I have to know where I'm going. I'm a homebody and don't like change! Also, my husband's tax business is in a building on this property, so it's not as easy to list without dealing with that either. Yes, we could take down those cabinets above the peninsula. The thing with the kitchen is that I could just do an update (solid granite on the counters) but the cabinets themselves are not that great of quality. Don't want to spend $4500 on countertops going over sub-par cabinets. So I remain stuck on that. And then husband doesn't want to put a big chunk of change in if we might be selling in the near-distant future. And finally, on window treatments, those dang windows are so wide, that nothing standard fits them (including standard sized rods). I was thinking of going with just some simple drapes hung really high, but always have the issue with them being too wide. Blinds would have to be done in two narrow panels on each end and one large in middle. Again, I'm just really touched you guys took the time to help me! Central OH. I was raised near Cincinnati - my husband and I moved to San Diego to find work (for him, a carpenter) in late 1979 due to the recession - construction and factory jobs had crashed to a halt. I stayed there after we split; really felt more at home there than I ever had in OH. But, after almost 13 years, the cost of living was becoming a strain and I wanted some family near as well - so back to OH, this time to Columbus, though, and I have found it to be a very pleasant place to live. Lots of parks, cycling and hiking, great live music, very many good and varied restaurants including lots of ethnic (various African, middle eastern, and other-than-Chinese Asian.) All sorts of activity. The past two summers have been hotter and more humid than the first 25, but I still find them tolerable (I like heat) and the winters are still pretty moderate -- the past 2 weeks of erratic weather notwithstanding - I don't mind them at all. Still, I think about trying another part of the country. I would like to go back to the San Diego area but do not think it would be a wise financial move.
