Like Worth, I'd been seeing this thread but not connecting with it. I was born 50 miles from where I live now. I moved from I guess you would call it northern Southeast Kansas to central Southeast Kansas. I've seen some beautiful scenery right here in the Sunflower state and you can't beat the growing season unless it would be semi-tropical, but that would get boring. I guess if I was run out of Kansas on a rail, I'd have to return to where my ancestors first put roots in this nation; Pennsylvania. Like Kansas, there is a lot of history there. My great-great grandfather was a Quaker preacher in Pennsylvania. He was a food and clothing stop on the way north in the Underground Railroad.

Thanks for your interest. Here's the "magnolia" floral fabric. It looks like magnolias in person, and less green. It's called "Diva Mist" and I think it's been discontinued, but I bought extra yardage. So I have an english roll arm chair in that fabric. It's kind of a big chair, and the print is "flamboyant", as my son said. To be honest, it is a bit much, but we've got it now, and once I throw some pillows with that fabric around, it'll pull things together. Hopefully. The two sofas are neutral and pale colored and luckily look really good with it. I'm trying to figure out what to do about the 2 chairs in the corner. Should they be the same as each other or different? Should I just stay with the taupe ones I already bought? This is what I'm asking myself. I'll always feel like I'm settling if i do keep them. If we're spending $$ on furniture now, I might as well get something I love. As far as the Studio line of RA goes, you make a good point. It is a lot cheaper, so I should wonder about the quality. It's sold only at their "retail locations", I was told. As far as I can tell, these are online only. The stores haven't even heard of them. Has anyone seen a chair similar to the Blanford chair by another manufacturer? As I said, I am a bit wary of making another online chair purchase. Personally, and maybe I'm crazy, but the comfort doesn't matter to me as much as the way it looks. There are plenty of other places people can sit. I like the look of the Blanford chair, and have seen very similar ones in English magazines. (I've also seen lots of weird chairs that I don't like, but I do like this a lot.) Unfortunately, I think I'm the kind of person who needs to see something in person before knowing if I'll like it....

I'd just say beautiful!! Great job!! Your kitchen reminds me of my new master bath I'm putting together. Long time ago I saw some gorgeous light fixtures I had to have and they are over the top beautiful crystal and nickle and modern. I spent so much on lighting fixtures that wnen it came time for the cabinets/vanities I tried to find a way to save money. So I opted for some inexpensive, yet very nice vanities that are more of an antique style. Then we come to the flooring and shower. Well, the shower is now going to be glass block, which I believe is pretty generic when it comes to style, and the flooring is porcelain tile in a beige stone look. The walls are a gray/green/blue. So I'm holding my breath waiting to see what all these different elements look like when they are all in place in the same room. If nothing else, I'll just tell people it's shabby/chic!! My poor DH who doesn't know that much about interior design keeps reassuring me it will all look beautiful. I do so want to believe him!! That's what I'm going on right now and hoping for the best. Your kitchen is fabulous!!

Like Countrypatch, I have painted in more than one state-Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio,Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, But that may be "cheating" GRIN-We did Craft shows in all of those states, and I always painted during the shows! Have Lived and painted in 3, (Florida (always home) South Carolina, and Virginia) and vacation every year in Indiana.
