Blind corners...PLEASE help!

I know....NOW I ask for help!!

My custom cabinets have been done for weeks.....BUT. There is this issue with the corners. We do not live there yet, and the counters are weeks away from being installed, so we WILL fix this!! They will not get paid until they do, either. I am trying NOT to turn this into a vent. Trying....

The doors on either side of the corners, which currently house big turntables, are assymetrical. They have two piece doors that hinge in the the corner, and they are NOT working. Thy have tried different hinges, little clips, etc, but they don't close correctly!

I cannot find the dimensions that I need on the websites to help me solve the puzzle. I need to know what DOOR size they fit, not cabinet size. I want them to make them into pull outs on one side, with blind organizers on the other. I am trying to do this without replacing the whole box, because they will mess up something ELSE taking it out!! Sounds negative, I know, but I have saw cuts in the closet ceiling from the electrician, and sorry, venting.....

Does anybody have some door measurements on blind organizers they could share? Do these things have a range of usable sizes, for retrofitting?

I think my door pieces are 12", 15", and maybe 17".

As for corner cabinets?
I'm a Lazy Susan kind of girl. That eliminates all this kind of hoo-ha.

No, it's not clear what you are asking for. You say you have a two piece door for the corner and turntables? That usually means an L shaped corner cabinet with lazy susans, not a blind corner cabinet. If you had more room in one direction from the corner than the other, you could definitely have an asymmetrical corner cabinet, which is usually 33" in on direction and 36" in another. That's a great solution to that problem, not a problem itself. The standard double hinged door for a corner cabinet would be asymmetrical in that case and nothing would be "wrong" at all.

So, do you have a cabinet plan that you can post with dimensions that illustrate your problem here? Pictures? Because it sounds like there might not be a problem at all with the cabinets, just a problem with them communicating with you so your expectations would align with what the plan actually is.

LOL....someone else like me! Wish I had some advice for you, but I'm in the same boat. I'm in my 40s, this is my 2nd new home, and all I've managed to have on windows is blinds. In the first one it was aluminum blinds. In our current home, I moved up to wood blinds--looks great, but sometimes "bare". Some windows don't have anything. In one room, that's about to change as it was previously unused and no window treatment at all. It's in the front of the house and now I want something for nighttime use, but probably not blinds. Anyway, I just wanted to commiserate with you :-) Oh, I have seen window treatments (curtains) over blinds. My sister has them and they look okay. Good luck! Tracey

I've bought a bunch of Bali cordless shades from Costco. I like the insulation, privacy, and I like the sun up/sun down for my bedroom and my living room. The living room used to have faux wood blinds...I'm not 100% sure I prefer the look of the cellular shades, but I do think they're more functional. I'm not at all handy and thought installation was pretty easy. I do have some doubts on the measurements for the bedroom windows. There are small gaps on the side of the shades that let in light, which aren't completely avoidable. BUT I wonder if I could have a smaller gap by mounting the shades in a different part of the window casing or using a smaller size shade, so maybe professional advice would have been helpful. I did talk to a designer about buying Norman or Hunter Douglas shades--she never followed through on a written quote, but the price was multiple times what I paid Costco. So I could throw away and redo the bedroom window shades and still come out ahead.

LOA, yes ,you are correct, but the cabinet and lazy susan are not the problem, it is that they cannot get these doors to hang and stay shut, and we don't even LIVE in the house yet! I am trying to solve this problem by doing something different. NOW he says he can put in a filler, etc, but dang it, I paid for custom cabinets so I did not have to deal with THAT!!

CEF! Come on down!! We are back in Texas, but I don't think you are much closer! Know any TKO bouncers in southern Kentucky??
