Help with a unusual card...

Hello to all you nice folks. Our son gave us a wonderful surpise 40th Anniversary Party. It was terrific. Now I want to send out the thank you's and I want to do something a little different. I thought about sending a picture from our wedding or from the party or both. But I want a really different way to do it. For my son and my niece who helped him I want to make up a little album of then and now. Any ideas on the card making itself or on the wording? It does not matter it all the wording is the same for them all. I was thinking of maybe a church shape card maybe. Please help me. I also posted this on paper arts and the C&D forum, but you scrapbookers have some really neat ideas. TIA

I am assuming by now you have got some suggestions from other resources. But if you have not, or for future ideas, one thought is take several photos, sayings, etc put them on a single piece of paper, scan them so they are all on one sheet. Then you could quickly personilize each one before sent out.

There are a few websites that will make real cards from your picture. They cost about $2 each. My friend gets them and they are amazing. Look professional, your choice of writing on the inside and you get to choose the picture! She gets them either from Snapfish.com or shutterfly.com

The ones that my grandmother used and the ones she kept were sometimes the size of the average credit card. Most were smaller but it depended on if they had room for a message. Some of them had a central place for a signature the one I remember most had pressed lace edges. I do not know if these were what was used by all women but the women in her family seemed to like ones with some decoration be it the pressed lace or what appeared to be hand painted small flowers. Edited to add that in the picture it appears that one side was taller than the other one. That would perhaps allow the cards to be laid against the taller size if it is taller.

If you want a lot of pictures of cane die back from a cold zone, there's a thread I posted a few years back called "Is this cane dead" that should help. In my world, it doesn't really matter if it's canker or other forms of cane death. Both need to be pruned off. Black lesions don't sound good. You can always post here pictures of your particular black lesions for more specific input on your situation. Cynthia
