Which floor tile for master bathroom?

Thinking of pairing with white subway tile. Would you go with a charcoal gray/volcanic ash tile or a brown faux wood? (please disregard the oak floors).

I'm just trying to see if I should go white subway + faux wood tile or white subway + gray/black tile.

Or any other ideas?

Is it butting up against that wood floor? If so, I prefer the contrast of the gray...and I like a white/gray color scheme...it's classic.

if the brown wood tile matches the hardwood in the picture, i would go with the charcoal tile. this is what i just did at the suggestion of my designer. the real wood and tile wood meeting one another didn't seem like the best idea. also, the designer suggested that I pick my counter tops first, because there are many choices of tile/paint/etc. but fewer counter top choices, especially if you are choosing granite. that being said, you may want to choose the counter top, then make the final selection on the tile and backsplash. i didn't listen to the designer about the counter top first thing and am having the hardest time choosing the counter top last. Installing large format tile, especially 24 x 24, is much more difficult than it looks. With so few tiles to adjust, each of them has to be put on a very good substrate, solid, flat and preferably with a membrane under them to help keep them from cracking. Smaller tiles are much easier to work with. Ask your tile installer about his experiences with large tiles and try to see some of his previous work in person if possible. Photos are great but they are of the prettiest places, not the awkward corners, bowed walls, uneven floors that lurk in every house. If you are going DIY, go for easy and skip the contrasting grouts and busy patterns which will highlight even the smallest area that doesn't line up just perfectly

Remember the KISS rule: Keep It Simple Sally! Right now you have white on white on white with some white. You have decided on a white subway tile for the tub surround which locks in a SHAPE. If you throw in a floor tile that has a different shape/presentation you are going to get a mish-mash of styles. If you go with a marble-look hex, you won't have anything to anchor your space. It will feel like you are walking into a cloud. The patch-work-quilt tile would be strong patterning, but it could be distracting. It would take away from the modern, clean, crisp lines you have just created with the rest of the space. With a bathroom that is white on white on white with white tiles, I would prefer to see a STRONG colour on floor. Like a slate-look porcelain tile. It would be STUNNING.
