Vanderbilt is in Hyde Park - part of the Roosevelt national park. The plant sale will be set up next to the visitor's center parking lot. The big news is that we will be having a tent this year, but even without a tent it isn't hard to find. I'm currently signed up to be there 11 - 2 on Sunday. Another good local plant sale is the weekend after Memorial Day at Clermont. It's June 5, 10-3. Phantom Gardener has a flyer out on the counter. I'm not exactly sure how that one is going to work this year, since rumor has it Clermont has picked up an admission fee for the grounds this year. And, if anybody hasn't heard yet, the IES spring plant sale is this coming weekend. Friday and Saturday 10-4, Sunday 11-4. Well worth a trip to Millbrook. I've heard they have divided some of their historic daylilies, and there will be some very rare things for sale. They also usually sell some roses from Pickering. Not antiques, but rugosas and Explorer types. It can be a very interesting sale.

I contacted Jerrie because I saw a post she'd made about a plant I'd been looking for. She was very nice, especially considering I asked about something she hadn't posted for trade. She was extremely generous and very nice to chat with. Karyn

melissa.mmm...thanks SO much for the recipe, they look wonderful...I am going to need the no calorie day after eating them..LOL I think I would like a " no cost " day....could Buy anything you wanted ...just for one day...oh, I am dreaming too...LOL Ok, I dont know if I can type it ALL, BUT I just recd my box, and WOW, did Pixie spoil me !! I recd pond plants..which I am gonna surprise hubby with for his pond. A cute card with two mystery seeds SEVERAL named cannas, and in PINK, which is my fav plant color.. Lots of great chocolate two little chocolate bunny statues..they are too cute ! a mini greenhouse with pellets to grow my mystery seeds CHOCOLATE MINT GERANIUM, for my choc garden... some Iris and daylilies Shasta daisy and some great recipes and recipe cards... I am so thankful for all of this wonderful stuff to enjoy...thanks soo much !! Oh, and a nunch of seeds... I think I need to send a bit more to my buddy next month, I thought we were to stick to the list...now I know better ! Thanks for making my day !!!

I not only remember the post, I remember the whole experience. Every time I go shopping and I have to hit two or three stores to get everything on my list, I remember the time I hit up seven stores! I guess I should be thankful I have seven to hit. My last escapade was with raddichio. I had a hard time finding it and when I finally found a store that carried it, I went straight there the second time I needed it. This was last month. I was 90% checked out, the cashier couldn't find it in her computer so she went to the produce department to check. I apologized to the very nice lady behind me and we chatted. The cashier returned and just as she started to finish my order, the electricity went out. I had to leave everything on the counter and go to another store. As I was leaving, I apologized once again to the lady behind me and said if it wasn't for that damn raddichio, we would have both made it out of here! It was only two stores that day. Seemed like a blessing to me. LOL
