Dottie I could not said it better.Vannie I thought the same thing after I layed in bed last nite.My cousin kept calling me and talking about this show.She was trying to figure out why and what the next move would be.It made me start thinking now this has to be for the rating because I agree just how many watched this last nite not wanting to move because they were afraid they would miss something,like I was.LoL.Silly me.But I did watch and was on pins and needles.LOL.I agree too and wonder just what did happen between him and his first marriage that made it fall.The child he has is so cute and sweet and I know at that age he does not understand but when he gets older,I wander what he will tell him about this?Shaking my head at my own silly self.

Wonderful analogy! I am going to clear up the misunderstanding and then I think I'm done with this thread. Poor Missy - thread was highjacked a bit. By me I think. Dd's SM was not TOW -- I don't really know when she met my ex. But what may have made you think she was TOW is that after we were legally divorced ExDH and I kept getting back together, breaking up, getting back together and all the while, he was doing the same with now SM. I don't see her as ruining my marriage because we were already divorced but i blame ExDH for screwing us both around she was just the idiot that decided to stick with a cheater. In my opinion of course. I'm not selfish Jess. I would take a knife to the head before wanting anyone to be mean to my daughter. When I said I would take a mean SM over TOW I meant mean to ME... SM is back and forth with my daughter. Mean. Not mean. Mean. Not mean. But she is consistently 'mean' to me. My statement was about ME. And how I feel. Wow that's selfish but afterall we weren't really talking about the kids we were talking about BM vs. SM. And why BM doesn't like SM. Really has nothing to do with the kids... Has to do with BM is not over the fact that another woman came in to her marriage. My biodad got his girlfriend pregnant when I was almost 2. He was just about to celebrate his 14 year anniversary with my mom when girlfriend called up mom and said ummm I'm due in 3 weeks. My parents were immediately divorced. My dad went on to marry that girlfriend and had two kids with her. They divorced her 8 yrs later and married someone else, a few yrs later met someone else and divorced and remarried the someone else. It's been 30 yrs since this began and you would think that my mom would be thrilled that my dad has been mostly miserable but instead she isn't. You would think that she would be like 'look at me I married a wonderful man and we have had an amazing 27 years and he is the father my children needed' but she isn't. She is still not over the hurt that she felt when she answered the phone one day (14 years and three kids later) and found out that her husband had another life. She will probably never forgive him. Her life was bettered because of it. But the pain and misery she went thru can never be erased. Even though in the end, her life is better. And guess what? My biodad can't understand WHY she hates him so. SM #3 gets so angry wondering why can't she get over it yet?? Why is she still carrying this?? Well I don't think its healthy but none of us have the right to tell her how long she has to recover emotionally.

mom24 -- I'm sorry if my trying to be funny upset you. I've merely commented because I don't believe any 25 things I could list would be especially brilliant. If I had made a list, I'd like some feedback. Does it help you to know that I've lived 46 years with a Bears and Cubs fan? (A little sympathy here? For both of us? For ALL of us?) No harm/no foul? A shorter list? 1. I'm an only child, married to an only child, with an only child, who (until February) has an only child. 2. Our only GS was born (two weeks early) the night DH and I were flying back to Chicago from Maui. Looks like #2 has the same agenda -- pregnancy and due date announced after we'd booked our tix. 3. We lived for 30 years in one northern suburb of Chicago until 2001, when we moved into a house we built in a suburb farther north. Defending against the building review board here caused me to lose 30 lbs. 4. We're happy that we persevered and built here. (And I'm happy at 117 lbs. -- better than the 138 I started at or the 108!) 5. I was *delighted* to be a petite 5' 2" as a HS freshman. Then I grew four more inches. LOL 6. DH and I grew up in two different Chicago suburbs. We had met as toddlers, but neither of us knew that until after our first date, after meeting in a Northwestern night school course on public relations. 7. Our DS is adopted. DH didn't know that *he* was adopted until he was 40. I co-led an adoption search and support group in Chicago for 15 years. Both DS and DH know who and where their birth families are, but do not have ongoing contact. 8. We are currently owned by our fourth Westie, Eliot, a puppy mill rescue dog. I don't DIS-like big dogs or cats, just never wanted one. 9. We've traveled abroad a bit; now only to visit friends or to our Maui condo in winter. I often spent summers in my mother's home state of RI after my parents divorced. I like the TripAdvisor Hawaii forums and the real-estate related forums on THS here. DH and I read a lot. Seldom buy a book, using our library for books and DVD's. We have 'teatime matinee' most afternoons watching movies, cozy mysteries or British TV series. (Currently watching "New Tricks" and "Doc Martin".) I'm also a 'cusp' baby, between Aries and Pisces. I cleverly managed that by being three weeks late. It's convenient to blame my faults on 'signs'. LOL I'm also probably a DES baby. Gah! See, I told you so. I can't think of anything more! Can't imagine who would want to know THIS, let alone MORE. Oh, my legal name isn't Sue, but it's what I've always been called. Sue ;-)

It isn't only with books that people can influence you. Musical tastes as well. I was exposed to all kinds by my family. -- Annpan Everything indicates this is true, I think. Do you hold with the theory that the influence on a person's lifetime musical preferences will most likely always be those formed from about the age of 10 through about age 25? In my case those years were from 1960 through 1975. Of course, it doesn't mean a person won't like or develop a taste for music that came either before or after those years, but perhaps music that is most nostalgically pleasing to them will fall within that range of taste development. My mother was a music teacher, and if there's such a thing as a musical gene I inherited it. My family was immensely influential on me, no doubt. I like a wide variety of music (with an active dislike of a few styles and perhaps a dislike of quite a number of individual songs). When I've analyzed why I like or dislike particular types of music, sure enough the ones most deeply imprinted, in my case, are the ones most influenced by my peers of 1960-1975. These might not have been the greatest musical years in history, but as far as I'm concerned, they are probably the most vivid and vibrant. Maybe there's a similar correlation with books and reading preferences, but I think I've gone through a lot more reading phases than musical ones. Probably everyone's experience is different, however. What do you think about yours?
