I agree Robin, I had to post this because I keep the cat's cages right next to a window and this morning I kept smelling that scent when the breeze blew and then I went and smelled the flowers... and smiled :)

I have noticed one thing, and that is that people often write in asking "for advice", when what they really want is vindication or back-up for their own wrongheaded ideas. They want people to agree with them, so they can feel they have 'permission' in a way to do what they've already decided on, regardless of how wrong it might be, and if they don't get it, or absolution for their crackpot ideas, they fly off the handle and say they're being attacked. Well don't ask for advice if all you really want is company for your agenda, rather than actual ideas on the issue as others might see it, or know it (if they're professionally knowledgable in the field), etc. Not everyone is going to agree with you on every issue all the time, that's not only unrealistic, but you'll also never learn anything that way and everyone has their own experiences to share, but they/we are all trying to help in our own way, so cool your jets and say thank you, instead of going off mad!

OK, this is kind of embarassing... Dh and his band buddies were planning a photo shoot and I picked up a few items of clothing with an 'edgier' look. One being a black tone-on-tone cut velvet shirt. The fabric looks kind of like this All went well with the shoot. A few months later he wore the shirt to work with a pair of gray pinstripe pants. He looked great and I told him that as he left in the morning. He comes home that evening and asks "Do you see a woman on my shirt?" I'm like Huh??? I look closely and to my surprise (horror!) see the scroll pattern in the shirt was created using this silhouette: One of the guys at work mentioned how much he liked the shirt and the girls in the shirt. Dh and I had no idea they were in there. When I think about it months later I still laugh.

Bricks too...the bad bricks make a different sound when lightly tapped together. And any glazed pottery...a glazed pot should ring when the rim is thunked with finger nail but when the tone stops short there is a flaw in it. And as for the tile with a hollow...roll a golf ball across your floor, you'll find them...i have one hollow tile in the path thru the dining room. And then there is thunk of a good watermelon...i swear it must be a lost art to hear a good melon cause people look at me odd as i am knocking the melons with my knuckle but i very rarely get a bad melon...tho sometimes those that have been dropped and cracked inside will thunk like a ripe melon, i am trying to train my ear to hear that flaw but it happens so rarely its hard to train an ear to a sound it very rarely hears.
