We had a reunion last summer after many years of not having one. It wasn't near as organized as most of the suggestions listed above. We plan to have another one this summer. Hopefully better and more innovative this year. Turn out was light last year but hoping for a bigger turn out this summer. We reserved a shelter at one of the local parks and put an ad in the local newspaper giving the date and place. Some people received personal invitations if they lived further away and didn't subscribe to the local newspaper. The ad was costly so probably would have been cheaper to send out invitations to each family. I do family history research so I took along my book for everyone to look at. Then I also made a poster board with wedding pictures of my grandparents, parents and aunts and uncles. Underneath each picture I put their birthdates, wedding dates and if deceased put that date also. Both were a big hit.We had a playground in front of our shelter for the smaller children and was also a swimming beach nearby. Food was potluck and worked out well. People just had fun visiting. Most of the crowd was seniors so I don't think games would have gone over too well at our gathering but I love hearing all the ideas. I took my camera and snapped pictures of each individual family as they arrived. Then we took one group shot but some had already left. I wish I had thought of the group shot earlier in the day. I love the idea of hiring a photographer but that would get too expensive for our group. I also have heard where some reunions each family wears different colored tshirts to identify which group they belong to. We had name tags at our gathering. One other reunion we attended had a notebook on a table as you entered the shelter and you wrote your name, address, email and a memory of your descendants. Everybody could read those notes and next year it will be shared at the next reunion. Also one couple was in charge of pictures and then they posted them to a web site to be shared with the reunion attendees. All the pictures were labeled so if you forgot some names it was a nice reminder. Keep posting ideas. I will be checking to see what other ideas come up.

I have lots and lots of napkins and tablecloths. I even use them outside at our teak patio table, because they don't blow away like paper does. Don't have a problem cleaning them. Use stain remover and soak ASAP, just wash next morning. My problem is identifying which tablecloth goes to the dining room table when its closed, and when its open. Which goes to the game room round table. Which goes to the teak outside table which opens up bigger. I have tried an index by color inside the cabinet door , and have tried safety pinning a little note on with the dimensions, but nothing is reliable. If I was starting now, I would have one color for each table (like I do with sheets for different size beds) but its too late now.Any ideas?

Start with The Craftsman Homes Collection (a badly designed website but some nice stuff) and The Arts & Crafts Society Marketplace. You will need to Google the artists and craftspeople they have listed without direct clickable links, because most of them now have websites. Most of my Arts & Crafts style artwork has come either directly from artists (in true Arts & Crafts philosophy) or from eBay. They haven't been hung up in this house yet but one of my favorite things is some Roycroft "mottoes" I've framed; I bought a set like this, picked out the ones I wanted to frame, gave away a few, and sold the rest to a local antique shop. Some of them are very funny - "Never Explain, Your Friends Do Not Need It And Your Enemies Will Not Believe You Anyway" - and others inspirational, like "The Greatest Mistake You Can Make In Life Is To Be Continually Fearing You Will Make One". They generally run $5-15 each if you buy them in singles, sets like that one are cheaper per print. Use the search term "roycroft motto" on eBay and make sure to check the eBay Stores link because that's where most of them are. They are NOT valuable, there are bazillions of them out there, so as long as they are matted well to keep the glass off the paper and your bathroom has some reasonable ventilation, there isn't anything to worry about. Current artists producing work in the Arts & Crafts style and philosophy include Dard Hunter, Anita Munman, Kathleen West, Cranberry Press (I framed a set of their notecards in one frame with a four-space mat, and it looked smashing), Bob Maurer. Framed tiles are about as "Mission" as you can get: if you can't rummage up some authentic antiques (there are LOADS of them, and folks that make frames specifically to fit) via eBay, one of the best places to go for a nice selection is Arts & Crafts Tile. Vintage is usually cheaper. In a Mission or even Adirondack interior you really can't go wrong with a print by Maxfield Parrish - pretty much every home in the first few decades of the 20th century had at least one, even if it was just on a calendar! They're widely available as reproductions, cheap, and mostly very colorful (there is a certain blue that he used for the sky in his landscape paintings - which are my personal favorites, rather than the "fantasy" paintings - that just gets you right here), with a great deal of charm. Another option is to put up shelves and begin a bathroom-related antiques collection - perhaps old toiletry containers, bathroom implements like old-fashioned shaving gear (mugs, brushes, old-style safety razors or dulled-for-safety straight razors) or miniature antique pitcher-and-bowl sets (example), just to throw some ideas out there. Vintage ads for soaps, toothpastes, hair tonics and suchlike are popular as well, they range from very cheap as reproductions to anywhere from surprisingly inexpensive to "GASP!!!" as originals. Hope this helps get you started on some ideas.

Hi Sandplus, That is cloth in my photo above -- but maybe you mean one with more white? Anyway, I ended up buying "napkin rings" from Etsy. The napkins rings were 50 cents each. I got napkins at Pier 1; they were the ones I liked best on line and in person they did not disappoint. The napkins were $3.71 each (versus $15.26@ for the British ones). I ended up getting some salad plates, too, for $3.88@. I looked first at Goodwill because so many people are getting rid of their china, I figured i might find something interesting. I didn't find anything that would work, and plates were cheaper at Pier 1, LOL. I do not really need plates but WTH, so cheap and the color works well. When I am done with them I can always donate them to Goodwill! I also bought a beautiful set of Alphabet cards for a new baby in the family. I was looking for someone who did fine printing like the napkins at the top of my post, and was reminded of a local co that makes gorgeous notecards (but alas nothing on fabric).
