My secretary invited me to dinner when she moved into her first apartment. She was quite sheltered and had lived at home with her parents until she was in her late 20s. She made her family's favorite recipe, "creamed tacos." My recollection was it was mashed potatoes mixed with cooked ground beef and maybe onions and some other seasonings rolled in tortillas then laid side by side in a rectangular dish. The some sort of cream sauce was poured over it. One bite and I knew she had mixed up evaporated milk with sweetened condensed milk! Interesting flavor combination. She, too, realized it didn't taste like what Mama made, so I was able to gently explain the difference between Pet milk and Eagle Brand milk. I moved, we lost touch. But if her cooking skills ever developed to match her secretarial skills, she would have been Cordon Bleu quality!

My friend and I run a Scrapbook Summit and this is our third year -- always on the first May weekend and falls on Nat'l SB Day. This year we have 107 scrappers meeting in the Berkshires for F/S/S at a great Inn. Always lots of fun and on Saturday it's pajama night!!! Becky

In places where power loss is more common than not, the suggested way to deal with a generator is to install a generator sub-panel. With this, connections are made to key circuits and a master switch off is provided to help prevent uploading of power into the dead grid connection. The generator is connected directly to the subpanel and it then controls which circuits are energized. In many homes, appliances are built-in and their power cords can't be easily reached. Such is the case in my house, as an example, with a built-in fridge and a separate built in freezer. Same with washer and dryer. Additionally, hvac equipment is often hard-wired and cannot be connected via a cord - this is also true in my house. For these reasons, people have generator sub-panels installed, the cost of which far exceeds the cost of a generator used to power it. Such generators are not shared.
