I need more help - shopping ideas?

Now that I have my chairs recovered and my table feels a little more updated, I am on the search for new barstools for the area.
My house is fairly traditional, but I am hoping this is a place to spice it up, after all it's just a barstool.
The problem is I need them to be comfortable and sturdy. They are actually sat in a good bit by adults and kids.
I would like an online source if possible, I just can't find anything around here.
This pic gives an idea of what they need to blend with. A very traditional pine farm table and a black and white kitchen.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

We bought a set of Folio barstools (in Kiwi green) from Crate and Barrel - very sturdy, comfortable and kid friendly. They come in nice colors and I think several of them would work in your kitchen. I will caution you that they have some bad on-line reviews from people who have older versions - my understanding is that the quality of the leather has improved since 3 or 4 years ago but since ours are only 8 months old I can't say for sure. We love them!

Exact flower colors are now probably the least of your concerns. If you want to landscape the property, Create the scale plan (using graph paper) and show all the things that are permanent features of the property ... house, drive, walk, trees, shrubs. etc. As suggested, make several copies (or alternatively use tracing paper over the top and then begin to work out planting bed areas vs. what will be lawn. For the time being, you could even forget that plants have colors as the only thing you'll be doing at this phase is working out FORM. Instead of thinking of things as plants, think of them as shapes and sizes. Place "plant-like" objects where you want them, and think of them in their mature, finished size. Consider things such as do you want a large object blocking windows? Or, would it be better to have a display of trunks and branches in front of a plain portion of wall? Do you like 100% of the roof or siding to show? When ever you wish, you could submit a copy of your progress to this thread and get feedback on your direction. There are exceptions to every rule, but I disagree that you can run off to the local garden center and expect to get DESIGN help. (Since there are exceptions, you might!) But more than likely the people waiting on you will have no training in design whatsoever. They may be gardeners and you may get suggestions for plants that people have some liking for. Collecting nice plants as such is more akin to gardening, not landscaping. Where they can be helpful is if you know the size, shape and overall character of the plant you want, they can tell you what plants can achieve those goals. It would be better to study the issues and do the design yourself, or hire a professional.

Lynne, The japanese dolls are simply gorgeous. I really like option #1 and the white dinner plate with your new salad plates. You could consider using a gold/yellow from the salad plate in the placemat if you use the option with the plain white. Maybe even a floral print? Or even red but silk like fabric? Need ideas for display in retail shop

Thanks everyone for the ideas. teacats, I have been on Craigslist a lot the last few weeks, and I think I found a nice lighted shelf from a local wig shop going out of business, but otherwise, it's not a great resource for my area like it is for many of others on the forum. And yes, our own items are used already: extra dining tables, my bedroom armoire I was trying to sell but didn't! justgottobeme, I like the stacking idea too, that is if the floor area is enough extra. patty, we do a good job displaying too, it's just the pieces to display on that I'm lacking. dee, I think our walls will fill up fast with the things we have and an big order we have waiting to ship after January. My only photo doesn't show much, it's all open, very tall ceilings, pendant halogen lights (that aren't giving as much light as I was hoping). I'm reading up again on traffic flow in retail shopping. I did a lot of reading when we first opened, and our small size didn't leave many options. I had a lot of suggestions from people on this forum back then, too. It was good to hear everyone's feelings on shopping, I sure have some myself!

I agree, post in the Garden Junk forum and you'll probably get the answer you're looking for as far as soil goes. Is this going to be sitting on the ground so the berry bush roots will take firm root?

Do you like the ones you have? Are they comfortable? Can't tell if the stool seat is padded or not....if so, cover the pad with the same material as your dining chairs. If not, how about making a thin round cushion (put ties on the front and back to hold them on the stool) of the same material as your dining room chairs. If you want to do more, you could paint the stools..maybe black to go with your kitchen. All this depends on whether your stools are comfortable or not....you could change the look greatly.

My thoughts were like Grandmaof3 if you have more material cover them but with a twist why not spray paint them or paint them one of the colors in the fabric. If you did the blue or the green it would definitely add fun.

The stools are kind of comfortable, but not sturdy. I always feel like I have to tell people to be careful, especially smaller children.

I love your idea about the black paint though. I actually have the black chalk paint left over from when I decided not to do the dining chairs.

Those folios are a great suggestion. I like those.

Overstock and way fair have a nice selection. The ones seem here were a steal from overstock and soooo comfy. Probably not what you are looking for but I love them!

Great chairs atkillery! I'd be afraid to go white but yours look fantastic. Those are the shape and style I was thinking about. Love the arms. They look so comfortable.

Thanks for the tips. I found lots to look at and ordered some swatches from crate and barrel.

Also might spray paint these just to see.

Wayfair is a great site I hadn't heard of.
