Thamks for the agave ID. I gotta say that just walking around in the neighborhood in Pasadena, you see all kinds of cool C&S. People have large organ pipe cacti stands, giant jade plants...it blows your mind. And I guess the aloe krapholiana is appropriately named if it turns to ...crap. But right now all them plants are in my garage and dry as a bone. I believe the agave obscura will go in the big terra cotta pot in the picture. It is a small agave (2 x 2) and I think pot culture will suit it. The airplane pot is the largest one of a set of 3 that nest. They are for staging as they have no drainage holes. My neighbor put them out for free. I took them, but have often thought of putting them back! Wouldn't that be funny! The yellow color is just not right to my eye.

The color really is amazing some days. I know some looking at the pictures probably think the colors have been saturated by editing. But, the pics above are straight out of the camera. Of course, cameras add their own plusses and minuses, but, more often than not the colors are not as vivid overall in the resulting pics as what I see with my eye.
