templates

Another question from this newbie-what are templates for? I have this kit, but am not sure what use they are. That is what that plastic sheet with the different shapes to trace is called, eh? Do I mount the pictures on the shapes? Thank you for not laughing at my ignorance.

Molly,
You can use the templates to cut your photos in that shape, photo mats or to do journaling on, or make die cuts. You can also use the lines for journaling, or making differnt colored borders. I am sure you will get other ideas from the other girls. Penny

I buy 2 of each one and staple them together. Then you can slide the picture in between and get it lined up just right. Hold carefully, then flip over and draw on the back of the pic so if you cut crooked, it doesn't show, It also makes it easier to see the lines. My CMC showed me this one.

Are your cabinets installed?? What is the size of the cabinet you are removing? Do you have at least 3/4" to the right of the ref? If that area is not installed, then get a 3/4 " panel to put on the right side of the appliance ( and a 3/4 filler for the wall cabinet if you want it to line up with the drawers ). The push the ref and its panels to the right 3/4" . That takes care of the support for the counter.

The mention of home button may have solved a problem. I mentioned this before, but when I talked to the apple tech I asked how to quit an app. He told me where to swipe. But he never told me how to close all the apps and I figured swiping must have closed them too. When I read about the home button, my iPad Air 5 doesn't have one so I googled it and yes it does! I haven't had time to do it yet but I'd go to settings, and other many steps, and there is a round circle like a home button, which will appear on the home screen. It can be moved with my finger to put it in a place I want. And I can move it again. That's the home button. Hit my head on the wall! Then I tap it twice to bring up open apps to close. Biggest world mystery, of all the money apple has made off us, why can't they put a quick start sheet in the package?

You don't necessarily need local, but you do need math. At your wall, measure 3' to the left from the corner and make a mark. Measure 4" to the right from the corner and make a mark. Measure between the marks; you should have 5'. Any deviation from 5' is how far your walls are out of square. Relay this information to your fabricator and have him build the top out of square if necessary. Remember, if your cabinet installer was any good, he installed the cabinets square and in plane to each other. If you want consistent overhang, this information must be provided to the fabricator as well.

That is the GREATEST idea I have ever heard of for using templates. I hate how some of my cropped picturs have ink marks on them!

I love the idea about stapling the templates together! Finally - a way to use templates without me ending up throwing them at the wall!
