Overwhelmed

I've been putting off doing our beach vacation pages simply because we have so many pictures! We took about 4 rolls of film. Obviously, some of the pics aren't usable, but I'm overwhelmed about how many to use in my scrapbook. What do you all usually do when you have tons of pictures of a vacation? For instance, I have three great pictures of my daughters dancing up on stage at an outdoor cafe. Would you put all three on a page, or just include one on a page with other things we did? Help! The more I think about this, the more I keep putting it off and dreading it. Not good, since this is my form of therapy! Thanks for your help.

Buy a small album and make a separate vacation album. That's what I did for our trips to Branson and Eureka Springs last summer.

If the photo include my children I use them, no matter how many I have in the album already, or how many that are close to the same pose. You could also make an album out of the extra shots that are close to the same shots, for grandparents or the kids themeselves, so when they are older and move out they can take their own albums without stealing yours. LOL My daughter tried to get a couple of my albums, and I said NOT TILL I DIE, AND THEY ARE PRIED FROM MY FINGERS! BUT I will give you copies of any shots and pages I have. Penny P.S. @Aphaea As I said, I have never done industrial design so that's the help I'm seeking. I prefer warm very open spaces with wood, stone, brick and lots of natural light and great lighting. The ceilings will be too expensive to do all in cyprus but I hope to do gathering areas such as the kitchen in wood, then the rest will need to be drywall. The kitchen area is my family's most popular space as we all are rarely apart when home. I don't strongly dislike the white cabinets but they would not be my ideal choice. I will be cutting down the island and moving the fridge to next to the walk in pantry and adding at least 2 more pantries. We have equine and farm animals, plus a Great Dane and a cat, lol, so this home is very appealing in that it's relatively low maintenance and will be easy to keep up! I guess after thinking further, my issue is the white in there. I think that is ultimately what has stumped me. Initially it was the framed in area above the far side cabinets but now I'm thinking it was for plywood too put in more cement finish which is not my taste. Thank you for your questions and comments!

A rain garden should not be next to a structure. The water could damage the foundation or cause wood rot. I hadn't heard the 10 foot rule but that would be a minimum and you have more room to make it further than that. With clay soil especially the water will stand around before seeping into the ground. The plan you provided is nice but no one can tell from a photo the grade of the lot or where the surface and downspout water naturally flows to or can be directed to. You need to determine that first and then place your rain garden there. There are lots of water loving plants...Iris I think like boggy ground. Ask a local nursery as suggested.

I personally wouldn't worry about matching, it isn't right next to the others anyway. it shouldn't be the focal point of the room.

Help! Overwhelmed by engineered bs hardwood flooring decisions

Current engineered flooring IS NOT more prone to expansion and contraction than solid hardwood. It has a core, at least the quality products, of birch or eucalyptus hardwood 5 or 7 layers pressure glued in different directions for stability. A 4 or 6mm top layer of European Oak can be refinished 2 to 3 times. The same number of times as solid with a tongue and groove. Maintaining temp and humidity level is more important for wood flooring than for laminate or lvp. A dehumidifier for summer should be a component in your house to reduce mold possibilities no matter what flooring you choose. In 5 years the click join system of some lvp can begin to fail. So, choose carefully if you go lvp. Modine by Flooret has one of the better systems. They sell direct.

oops- sorry. I don't use repeats. I would pick the best of the three. Put the others in an archivealy (sp?) safe box. I figure some day my own kids will want to scrap and this will be where they start.

Hi Anne! I am having the same dilema. We went to Disney World in December and I took 23 rolls of film! I bought a Disney scrapbook while there and am putting the pictures in it in order of each park. Yes, some pages have numerous photos of the same event but I figure this is a once in a lifetime trip and I want to document ALL of it! LOL Good luck!
