HA!! Get ready Kathleen..you will love what you find at the CTS!! and You too will be saying 'Don't You Just Love A Bargain?'..lol.. I Went back Sunday, and I purchased more round placemats... They have several color selections..I got the green. Also, like I needed it, I got a lovely twig woven Hat, with an apple and berry spray on it for only $4.99. I put it on the inside of my front door. DH said why would you buy it, when you made all those vine wreaths?.. I told him it was too nice to pass up!! LOL sno.. I agree w/kathleen, what a nice project to be working on with that quilt, and such wonderful 'fabric memories'. I did that once with scraps of fabric from dresses I made my DD when she was little...I passed it on to her when she got married. As far as starting several projects going at once..I'm right there with you. I too started this past winter, putting photo albums together of old family photos. My parents had given them to me to hold many years ago, then they never took them back. I took each one out..and some I framed and hung up on the wall going up the stairs. When my MIL saw what I did, she gave me some old photos to add, from my DH's side. The left overs, I'm slowly putting into albums. I had an elderly aunt,(my DF's oldest sister) who came to my house many yrs ago, when I lived in NY, and when she saw the photos on the wall, she me names and told me stories about many I didn't know. I wrote the names on the back so I would remember them, and when I'm gone..my DD or whoever else, would know. I hate when I see photos just thrown away and know one knows who they were.

Hello to all you quilt-o-holics! I am a newbie to the forum, having joined only a few days ago. My RL name is Marilyn but online in am agoldencomet - aka goldie or comet. I came up with this web name as something original - a golden comet is a breed of chicken with feathers the same colour as my red hair! LOL Now you know (from that spelling of colour) that I am Canadian - from Nova Scotia. I am 62-year-old retired school teacher snowbird, spending 5 1/2 months of the year in Ft Myers beach in Florida. I have been married to my best friend for only three years, after living together for twenty. Ours was one of the first weddings when same gender marriage was made legal in Nova Scotia. Regretfully, we have no children and thus no grandchildren to quilt for. So I have begun making charity quilts for preemies and also for abused moms and their children. Our only baby was Rudy, our sweet cat, who died last summer at age sixteen from cancer. We miss him desperately and will soon adopt one or more kittens. I have been quilting for only about three years and am keen to try any style and/or technique I see. My love is stained glass and I have completed ("almost") a queen size SG quilt. All others so far have been lap quilts, children's or UFO's. I am working at building my stash which travels with me north to south in the fall and vice versa in teh spring LOL. I am so glad to have found your forum and look forward to having lots of fun with you! goldie xoxo

Hello :D I am Marie and live in Wyoming (the only WY person on these forms I think LOL) I have 2 children: Son is 25 and is blessing me with my first Grandbaby in April :) and my daughter just turned 16. Besides quilting and other crafts, I am an avid FOOTBALL fan (my friends & family say it is more of an obsession) and love to fish. I attempted sewing on my Grandmothers antique trendle machine, yes the ones before electricity with a leather belt. It was great fun but didn't really accomplish anything per say, I still have it but it is just for looks now. I really didn't get interested in sewing until I was pregnate with my son. I made my first one out of 2 - 2yd pieces of blue/white plaid cotton and dark blue flannel for the back. I bought satin binding, hand sewed every thing on and hand tied it with plain white yarn, then made one similar for my son but with little boy print for the front. I still have them and use the blue one for watching movies with my daughter. My Mom's, mom gave me all of her counted cross stitch books and I did that for the most part with a little crocheting/knitting until 3 or 4 years ago. I decided to try making a quilt with blocks after checking out this site and have been hooked ever since. I enjoy being in the Quilt RR and BB Block exchange - learning something new all the time. I love to be outside and grow just about everything: veggies and all types of flowers in the summer (LOVE Daylilys & Iris) and have lots of house plants and will try any type of seed. I have 6 Avacodo's growing now - not sure what I am going to do with them all when they get to be TREE's but they are fun. Oh, a new one sprouted last week and has 3 sprouts from one seed! very cool IMO I really enjoy seeing what others are doing - gives me great idea's for new projects. I have 5 to 10 going at an given time to keep from getting bored. I decided to go back to school for Archaeology this fall, I'm enjoying myself but it sure does cut into my crafting/quilting time... So my goal for this weekend it to finish up the September BB's and also my RR row and center. Have a great weekend all!
