Believe me, Nancy, it's brutal to us, too... but we know we have to endure it at times, and so we have gear ready! Warm coats and boots, hats and mittens, snow shovels and bags of salt, and basements filled with potted plants awaiting nicer weather! :-) My poor banana tree has like two leaves left... hurry spring! After a winter of rest, I finally gave my baskets of Oxalis a drink... I've got 4 baskets hanging in the basement... I hope they did ok over the past few months. What a day! Up early with a splitting headache... got my work done early... and went back to bed! Just woke up for the second time today... fill me up with coffee, please! :-)

I hope your weather has been behaving better than ours..:-) Ash, I feel like I have been out of touch with some, especially you. Thanks for the compliment! Considering that my dad has been sick with cancer, my mom has been very ill while I am caring for them, along with so much work, it is any wonder that I even find time to come here anymore. When I don't, I miss all these wonderful people and the sharing of experiences to become better care takers for our houseplants. Everyone here has helped me to get to where I am, and I am always greatful for this. Radagast, I appreciate what you said...It is actually realy fun to do so, but sometimes it can get pretty scarey when the older folks disagree with my way of planting..They have to see the proof before they believe. My little man was just past his 4th birthday when we were sitting at Mass one Sunday. When the collection plate was being passed around, he asked me in a loud voice for all to hear, "Mammy, are we playing pass the parcel?". He had the whole church chuckling! Imelda

I dont believe that two people should stay together for their kids sake. THey will hate and resent one another if they are both not mature enough to get over one another. BUt there are people i know who have done it and they are happy. My best friends parents are a perfect example. His father owned a restaurant business and he cheated with one of the waitresses. Well his mother new about it and stayed for the sake oftheir son. BUT she told her husband, now thatyouve slept with another you are not coming in my bed any longer. Divorce is not an option. We have achild and we will raise it as friends. THey live till this day under that same roof. BUt in separate bedrooms as she demanded. She will cook and clean for him and take care of her son, my bestfriend. And she stayed with him for better or for worse. BUt both their characters allowed this to happen. And this is rare. I understand why TOS would say this. THere are situations where the parents do stay togehter but its rare! And its very difficult to put aside feelings of betrayal and hate for the sake of their kids. And to keep those feelings from spilling into the household as well. I commend my friends parents for that alone. But my friend knew his parents were not 'together' and it still makes him sad, He even said he would have rather see them split. And he is now 36 years old.
