I just finished a 2 page spread of my "vicious" 6 lb. toy peke! I found paper that is all dog biscuits and used Mrs. Grossman stickers that are paw prints for the border. That sticker set also has bones, balls, collars, "woof!" dialogue balloons etc. I used red letters and across the top of the page it says BAILEY--The body of a bedroom slipper-the soul of a Rottweiler! The pics are randomly arranged with the stickers as photo corners. I chose a variety of pics--Bailey mauling his teddy bear contrasted with him asleep looking particularly angelic and so forth in keeping with his "dual personality!" On the second page, I used pics of everyone in the family holding him. Since they are all close-ups of the person's face with the dog close by, I cut them all as silhouettes. That page has the same paw-print border and is headed in red letters "BAILEY'S HUMANS." I like them--they're fun.

I also did a page for my old cat who literally dropped dead back in February. I know it's not really funny, but the cat was in a dining room chair and he had a heart attack and just fell out of the chair and was dead when he hit the floor! I'd never heard of that happening before--I think Bailey may have aggrevated him to death....anyway, back to the page. I used sage green paper and put a thin black border around it with some scroll work in one top corner. I titled the page "REMEMBERING NERMAL" and then wrote a short description of his life with us--when we got him, funny things, he did, etc, along with his date of death. I used pictures from various stages in his life and I bordered those in black. It's very dignified looking, but the sage background keeps it from being too morbid. Hope these ideas help a little--pets are an important part of any family and I definitely think they should be a part of the memory books we are all so furiously trying to keep for ourselves and our families. LOL.

Pet pictures are so much fun! i just finished my pages for our 2 dogs, Patches and Snickers, Patches went to doggie heaven in '96 and Snickers is 5. I had lots of pictures of them playing together. On one page I have a picture of Snickers as a puppy looking for her tennis ball under the ottoman, all that shows is her butt and tail so I cropped the photo in the shape of an exclamation mark and matted it in red. Then 2 other pictures of her playing with the retrieved ball. At the bottom of the page i have a wicker basket die cut with a silloutte of her inside the basket and a mound of tennis balls pouring out of the basket. Haven't done any journaling yet, but have a few ideas. Another page has 5 pics of my daughter holding a sleeping Snickers like a baby, I titled the page "Happiness is a warm Puppy". My other pages have a lot of the dog paws, bones, dog houses, food dishes etc., either stickers, die cuts or rubber stamps. My favorite paper is the 12x12 white with little black paws around for the border.

I have done one page of all 5 of our pets from all the years when the kids were at home. I have a little 'saying' at the top of the page:
Animals are such agreeable friends.
They ask no questions; they pass no criticisms.

The page itself is white with red, blue, green paw prints, and I cut the pictures into circles and ovals, w/mats in those three colors. I also wrote a bit about each pet. Both my children loved the page.
