Do gooseneck faucets splash if you have a 10' deep sink?
Comments (5)I purchased a goose neck faucet and I never thought about splashing. But mine does, not when it hits the sink, but when it hits my hands or what I am washing. My sink is 10" deep and the faucet is about 20+ inches from the bottom of the sink. I come away from the sink splattered. I think it is just my faucet (grohe concetto with a sprayer) & the water pressure I guess but I have yet to get used to it (or figure out how to adjust.) I am not sure the spray is a function of the goose neck, so this may not be very helpful to you. Helpful to me because I can vent :) I hope you can find somewhere you can try out the faucet you are considering. Some places have faucets installed - call around....See More? about faucet style for siligranit sink to avoid splashing...
Comments (6)I have the silgranit super single and the grohe ladylux 3, which is a tall pull OUT faucet. It splashes if I turn it on full blast or even half-blast. I think if you picked a faucet that isn't tall then you wouldn't have a significant splash problem. It's one thing I would have researched more if I had to re-do; however, I find the height of the faucet very useful, the pull forward motion to turn on/off very necessary, and the quality of the faucet wonderful. So it's a toss up I guess. HTH...See MoreFor those who have a 10' deep sink - does your faucet splash?
Comments (22)Ya know, it seems to me that it is a Law of Nature that running water, when it hits an obstacle, will splash. So it would be the angle of encounter that determines where to and how much splashing there is. Southernmum, I have never used your style of pullout, but it looks to me like the rear of it angles back in a way that would direct the water rearward-- and the resulting splash even more so. Do you think that is what is happening?...See MoreNeed kitchen faucet that doesn't splash
Comments (6)I find the gooseneck faucets are far worse for this than the faucets we used to all have until 15 years ago. The old style being an upward angled faucet coming up from the countertop, that was essentially a ten inch long straight rod. The old style faucet was inches closer to the sink, so less opportunity for splash, plus the style of handle was less likely to get accidentally pushed or pulled as a pot was moved past (causing inadvertent increases in flow). The old school style are harder to find, and no designer uses them anymore in a bad case of form over function. But i always use them in my renos....See More- 12 years ago
