Punk...Just imagine all the trouble we would get into if I moved closer! I don't think we'd get Anything done - except cause trouble!! lol I'm looking forward to seeing what you paint...it's been awhile since you've done that and I always enjoy what you do. I know your schedule has become so hectic for quite awhile, that painting is probably a 'wind down' and mental break to get back on track. I know when I'm at my busiest, I come on here for my 'mental' break. It helps me from getting too overwhelmed. Then, I go back and tackel another job. My DGSon convinced DH to do a different layout this year on his village. They are having way too much fun with it..but that's good, just as long as everything is put away in time for me to clean for Thurs and the party. I'm with you on 'The More the Merrier'..I love having a full house for the holidays. It's just a shame that everyone lives so far away that those family get togethers are now few and far between. Cindy...your decorations are displayed so nicely. Especially on that Hoosier Cabinet. Is that an old piece? I like your display on top with the lantern and the iron pumpkin with the berries..very nice. I like how you decorated your cornucopias too. They look very festive. You're so lucky to have something of your GMs to put out for the holiday...that's so special. You have such an impressive collection of Byers Choice. They look fabulous. While in Cape Cod this summer, we always visit a shop, that is a large Distributor of BC..I always enjoy seeing what their new line is. They always have a video going on the history of them, and how they are made, and their 'New Addition'. I enjoyed seeing their wonderful Halloween collection. I'm glad you allowed us to take a look. You seem to be all set, and everything is lovely. jane

In October Geo and I celebrated 40 years together and 6 years of marriage. This month we celebrated another milestone with our 40th Thanksgiving dinner. We started when we first were together having people over that had no where else to go, or weren't welcome by family, to our house for dinner. For many of those years we'd do the turkey on the spit over the charcoals, but finally had to stop that three years ago as it got to be too much for us. Can't believe today it's been 40 years. Even though I'm dog tired at the end of the day, I can't imagine our Thanksgiving being any other way. On a down side, my sister-in-law passed away last Tuesday. It wasn't unexpected, as she'd been told by the doctors to stop drinking and smoking but what did the Effing doctors know? Memorial service is tomorrow, but told my brother there was no way I could make it. Especially since I only learned about it yesterday. He realized that and apologized that someone didn't let me know sooner. Even if I had, I doubt I'd have been able to either fly back or drive. Home is in MI and big storm headed that way. I'm glad I can't make it because from what my great-niece tells me, there might be some family drama at the service. Just what's needed at a time like that. Makes me appreciate our family that Geo and I have acquired over the years. Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. Now to try and get the house decorated, cards done and out and ready for Christmas.
