Hello ~ I'm new to your forum

Hi everyone . I just joined after doing a google search for a sewing forum. My name is Wanda ,on Sunday ,Jan 8th I turned 51 ,and that's one time where numbers don't mean a thing to me :o) I live in Nova Scotia,Canada and have sewn all my life .I do lots of different crafts but always return to sewing in some form .Looking forward to joining in discussions here and meeting lots of new friends .Since I'm never very good at introductions ,perhaps it would be easier to just tell you to ask anything you want to know ,and I'll answer as soon as I can .

Welcome Wanda,
I'm in central Alabama. I had a b'day this month too. As long as my sewing machines that are older than me hold out I'm happy!

Hi! I'm new too, and also had a birthday this month...of course I can't sew at all, but I always end up attempting just one more sewing project. Maybe if I stick around I can actually learn something!

Welcome to the group Jenny. Where are you in Australia? I am in Michigan - lived in Armidale NSW for a year. Did you know there is also an Australian Garden Web? Hi there, and welcome. Congratulations on both your new married life and getting started on your new home. Be sure to check out the kitchen and bath forums too for lots of great advice over there, and don't be shy about asking questions and looking at the galleries of past projects. People love to 'show off' their completed projects and help with new ones around here. Gardening is my love too and I've learned by doing and made many mistakes along the way - comes with the territory I have discovered.

Oh lucky you. I have a friend who has been a machine knitter for 30yrs. She does kids ear flap hats at the craft shows and has a big following of customers her hats are so nice and she has such wonderful program patterns for her machines. I don't know what brand machines she has but several good ones and she also does the intricate christmas stockings because she can program the patterns in. I can't knit at all but I can crochet so my broblem would be if you have to knit to piece stuff together it wouldn't work for me but I would love to do something like this one day. I need to get with my friend and find out what to look for in a knitting machine if I were to buy an electronic one as I want one you could program the patterns in. What model brother did you get? Please post back how you like it as this is something I have always been interested in. Mary

Welcome to the forum, glad you decided to join, and Happy Birthday, we have sewers who have just started, we have several dressmakers, and long time sewers, all enjoying each others company and chats, many of us check the forum more then once a day, LOL I'm an old sewer, we also have the quilting forum, and there are galleries to show off our projects. check them out Rene in Louisiana

A warm welcome ,Wanda, from a fellow Canadian (Northern Ontario). Like you, I have done a number of crafts over the years but somehow sewing is my favourite. Do you enjoy quilting? If so, check out the quilting forum--lots of very nice,talented people there too. I'm sure you'll have lots to offer us with your many years of experience.

I am fairly new as well and have found everyone here helpful, friendly and talented. I am also in Canada but am American. My father transferred here and I married a Canadian and stayed. I live in Campbellville, Ont. My sister just moved back to Ontario after spending almost 20 years in Bridgewater, N.S. My sewing these days is mostly quilting and crafts. I used to make alot of clothes for myself and children but don't do much of that anymore.

Enjoy and I am sure you will have alot to offer the rest of us

Hello All,

I am new to the forum, quilting and sewing so I love all the information. I started quilting last fall I have 6 quilts under my belt althou 1 turned into a shower curtain it was so shabby cottage and turned out so cute. I cant quilt at the moment house under remodel for another week so I am reading and learning. The quilting forum is excellant also. And I am in North Louisiana. Cant tell its winter here this year.

Welcome to all you new folks from central Florida! It's great to have some new "faces"! Wanda, I visited Nova Scotia a few years ago (Halifax & St. Andrew? I think) and I loved it! I want to go back. What a beautiful area.

Hi all. I am also new to your forum. I have posted a few questions and appreciated the helpful answers.

I am from Northern Ontario - have sewn for many years and am now getting back into it on a more regular basis. I also knit and do other crafts. As you can see by the posting time I also am a late night computer user. Like to hear from everyone.
