Give each child a milkweed pod to take outdoors on a windy day. Help them carefully open the pods, and encourage the children to hold them high above their heads or run with them so the milkweed fairies can fly free! Circle time is a good time to enjoy the following fingerplay: In a milkweed cradle all close and warm, (Place cupped hands together) Little seeds are hiding safe from harm. (Keep hands closed) Open wide the cradle now, hold it high. (Open cupped hands, raise them above your head) Come along wind, help them fly. (Sway open hands in the air)

In place of all the pig tails, cowlicks and braces, I see grey hairs, balding, and wrinkled faces. Skin tight clothing, has been replaced with elastic, And I maybe wrong, but "Have some of you had Plastic? Hot rod sports cars, with big engines that ran, have now been replaced with slow mini vans. Our biggest fear. was who to take to the prom, Now were wondering who's gonna care for mom! Getting caught outside with out a hall pass, has been replaced, with worries over last night's gas Who's going to win, next Friday night's game, Well let's face for men some things never change! We were just going to die, without a class ring! God! It's been years since I've seen that old thing! Sneaking a smoke in the old bathroom stall, is not nearly as fun as I used to recall. But being back together if just for this night, Has made all these memories seem so shiny and bright. So tonight we'll have fun and lie about our youth. Penny, I think that poem was great about the boy in tux going to the dance. I am going to make a scrapbook for my son on his baseball season. He is a junior in high school and I have mainly newspaper articles to put in this book. I thought a nice poem in between pages or at the end would be appropriate. Since your last poem was so great can you think of one for me? Not too childish as he is 17 years old. He had a great baseball season as a pitcher and playing left field and also batting. How about this: Their leaves have fallen with the setting suns, We will soon say goodbye to all our summer fun, But out in the garden still standing tall, There are Autumn flowers still fighting fall, With their beautiful colors, from yellows to reds, Scattered all across all my flower beds, Time will get them too, as the cold winter nears, But I will enjoy my Autumn flowers, while they are still here.
