I have sold a bunch on both and I would recommend going to Craigslist first. Mostly because it's free and if you live in a more populated area there are a lot of people checking through there all the time. I know here in NY stuff disappears as quickly as it goes up, so the turnaround is great. If nothing moves you can always put it on eBay, just be aware you will have to pay the fees. Not sure if you are trying to sell any rugs, but I found this great comparison article relative to Oriental Rugs. It costs you nothing but a little time to put it on Craigslist. I would do it, start at 10% of whatever you paid for it originally, and be sure to include the âÂÂor best offerâ tag. BE SURE you mention that they will have to be responsible for moving it, if that is the case. Honestly, I could easily see that piece in a contemporary setting - grey is a HOT color today, and that, against a deep turquoise wall (THE color of the year)in a modern decor, would be great. A long time ago, someone on here posted a general rule for CL items that I've discovered works over and over again. List the item for 25% of what you paid, and negotiate from there based on demand. So, here, let's assume the chair went for about $1800. 25% would be $450. Then it would probably be negotiated to $350 -which is exactly what a few people have suggested. See, it works again! So I too, would offer about $350.
