Replacing new front door with vintage door?

I currently have a metal front door with a half moon glass thing at the top. Hate it and it doesn't really go with my house. I can get a vintage wooden door from a guy that does teardowns -- I really want a 50's door with the little glass windows.

So what terrible things are in store for me? Most of the vintage doors are larger than my current door, so the door would have to be trimmed. I would much rather leave the current casing/door frame and hang the new door on it.

Another idea is to just buy a plain slab door from HD or Loew's, and have someone install the little windows.

I would hire a pro to do this, since it is important that the door is weathertight. I am thinking I would also need a storm door because the new door would be wood.
