Does anyone have a Liehberr Refrigerator?
Comments (5)Are you getting built-in, integrated, or free-standing? People seem to be really happy with the 30" free-standing. If it is free-standing , be careful with the stainless, it dents very easily(very thin). I have a 48" free-standing (which is actually 2-24" put together), I'm having temp issues (too warm-replaced both electrical boards once, still warm), but my units only have one variable compressor each, the 30" are dual. I'm still irked that I was not told this. (Info doesn't state it, it wasn't until I needed to call for service that I found this out). The dual compressors were the top reason I chose Liebherr. Now that I'm done ranting, I'd buy another Liebherr, probably a built-in with dual compressors. Very happy with interior quality....See MoreFisher and Paykel door at 90 degrees?
Comments (3)I've got a F&P single door bottom freezer fridge. Mine is in a 36" cabinet opening with cabinets on one side and a side panel on the other. The doors sit proud of the cabinet opening -- the fridge body is cabinet depth, the doors are in front -- and we have no trouble accessing the bins. Our model is the one with the freezer door with pullout shelves behind it, not the one where the whole freezer pulls out as one big drawer. I checked, and our freezer shelves can be pulled out with the freezer door opened 90 degrees. The fridge door, however, needs to be opened a bit farther to allow the produce bins to pull all the way out, because the door shelves get in the way if the door is at 90 degrees. You can open the bins and access the contents with the door at 90 degrees, but you can pull them out an extra inch or two if you open the door to more like 110-120 degrees. Just another note on organization. If you are getting one without a deli drawer, like ours, and decide you want a drawer, the Container Store regular size shoe drawers fit great inside this fridge. (Most fridge bins are too long front-to-back for a counter-depth fridge.) It took me a while to find something that would work, so I thought I'd share. The link is below. And just in case you're getting the same model with the freezer door that we have, the bottom "shelf" is a deep bin. I had the hardest time finding something to organize that thing, but it turned out that IKEA Kusiner boxes (in children's storage) fit perfectly, 3 in a row side by side: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20163265 (Sorry, I've tried about 10 ways to make that a clickable link but none of the codes I've tried work on this forum, and I can't find the instructions quickly.) Here is a link that might be useful: Container Store clear shoe drawer...See More90 degree C supply wire warning. What does it mean?
Comments (4)The warning label is NOT about lamp size. In order for the manufacturer to place the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) label on their fluorescent fixtures, the supply wires must enter the fixture over 3" away from the ballast. This is because UL requires that ALL wires within 3" of a ballast be rated for 90C. This 3"/90C UL requirement is the source of the requirement in NEC 410.33. Yet some fixture sizes and/or designs don't allow for that minimum 3" spacing , so UL allows the UL label on fixtures where supply wires enter within 3" from a ballast -IF- the manufacturer also places a label requiring 90C supply wire only. You don't need to add a box. Just pigtail a length of 90C wire to your house wires in the box, and bring the higher rated wires into the fixture to supply the ballast....See MoreAnyone have a Thermador integrated refrigerator next to a wall?
Comments (10)yes, johnsoro25, my situation is like that, right next a little half wall but on the opposite side of the kitchen (little wall on right not left). As long as the articulating hinge allows the 90 degree opening to get everything out I don't have an issue. Though, I am a bit weary about not having the landing space exactly next to the fridge. My current design has a 24" pantry between the fridge and counter. But moving that fridge next to the counter means a really tight space in the aisle....See More- 14 years ago
