betsyhac, The best solution I found to clean grout was to dissolve several (6?) "Finish Powerball" dishwasher detergent blocks in bucket of hot water and pour over the tile/grout area and allow to soak for an hour. Had to keep re-wetting off and on. Too much dishwasher detergent will make floor very slick and harder to rinse off. Not enough detergent and grout will not come clean. Used a grout brush, long narrow with both sides beveled to center attached to long handle. Grout brush and long handle were purchased from a janitorial supply place (brush $25, handle $10). The wide rectangle grout brushes do not work, they do not get down in the grout line. Was able to stand upright and scrub the grout lines. Takes lots of elbow grease, it does work. If light colored grout is real dirty, almost dark brown or black it might take more than one scrubbing to get it clean. My grout was off white, think it was called almond color. Best to allow grout dry completely, no walking on it for a day using fans to help dry, then put a good impregnator sealer on the grout. Krissie

Hey Robin, the salvage place I spoke of is called Southeastern Salvage, and also has some good deals on maple cabinetry and granite. That's where I got the travertine deal and is next on my agenda for cabinetry (after the bath) for my kitchen remodeling plans. Nolensville Road salvage places use to be great for finding some bargains on knobs, hardware, antique dressers, etc, but I haven't been down there the last several years just to a lack of need to do so. There may still be some great places for that though along that area. With the holiday schedule lately, it seems like my dadinlaw and I are doing maybe one wall per month on this last bath remodel. I'm planning on an early start today to try to wrap it up -- I think I'm afraid of trying to set these glass mosaics and thus keep putting it off. Trying to get them flush (or close) with the travertine is what I'm really afraid of. The franklin area seems to have expanded its salvage areas too. My understanding is that Southeastern Salvage is based out of Knoxville, but the store in Nashville I mentioned is only a year or so old. It was the first time I'd tried it, but those cabinets at Southeastern have me hooked. I'll be tiling the kitchen floor with the heat mats beneath and will be using the same tile I got at Ceramic Tile Distributors on Fogg St for that. It was a 13x13 italian "argilla" (sp?) that I got for $2.17 a tile after they discounted 77 cents off it.

My pantry is in my laundry room, so my storage doesn't have to be pretty, but here is my can storage. The shelf has front "stops" to keep the cans from rolling out and is divided into rows so that cans can be laid on their sides. It works just like the soda can racks one puts in the fridge. :)

In Ontario, you can go on the College of Physicians website and find out which doctors are accepting patients. Then you can look further there to see when and where they graduated from, whether or not they have hospital admitting privileges, whether or not they have restrictions etc. It is a great source of information if you are willing to do some homework. Sites such as RateMD's are also a site of information that will give you a bit of an indication of how the doctor treats the patients. As a nurse, I have worked with many doctors and I have to say that it is pretty accurate for personalities. Keep in mind that there will always be some unhappy reports. Doctors are human after all and no one is perfect. It will give you an idea and a general feeling about a doctor in any case. Doctors in Ontario are in such short supply, we really don't have the luxury of choosing as much as in some countries. We are lucky if we can find a doctor that will take us.
