rlv4 - I feel no need to justify my "normalcy" to anyone, particularly when it comes to organic practices on on organic discussion page. The purpose of the tea is to introduce and encourage micro-organisms in soil. These organisms are essentially immune to freezing, they have evolved to accommodate seasonal temperature fluctuations. The OP hopes to preserve those benefits until the soil in their garden is most likely to gain from them, freezing would preserve the viability of the micro-organisms until they could be used, and reduce any potential losses due to anaerobic processes taking place. It's a practical solution, just because it doesn't fit into a conventional mind-set doesn't mean it isn't worth considering.

Is it a hardwood frame? Antique? Glued? Depending upon your climate and humidity, I would not want it in an unheated garage or an extremely hot garage in the summer. What's the covering? Fabric? Any chance of food spills which bugs could get to? Plastic just covering it might still allow bugs to get to it. Otherwise, if it's a temperature controlled garage, it should be fine. Gloria

laughable - I'm not Chicago Bob, but we had considered something like that at one point when it looked like I might not be able to have my 3rd (top) drawer under my induction cooktop at a usable height...we would have had the front represent as the two drawers, but part of the front would have been covering an area of the cooktop clearance, then the drawer in a drawer would have been just below that...putting the drawer within a drawer would have yielded me the storage area that I needed, even if it was a bit less convenient. If you have a choice though, I would be less likely to do the drawer in a drawer. As it is, my top drawer front for my cooktop cabinet is 6" high (lining up with the rest of the top drawers in the kitchen) and will have a drawer depth of about 2 1/2"...enough for me to put flatter utensils (or some people would put lids) in that area.

I have some very expensive art brushes for paintings (not walls) and I store those bristle end up (resting on the point of the handle) in a tupperware container that's actually for storing pasta. Works perfectly, and smaller paint brushes (1" - 2" brushes) would probably fit. You could get a larger size container for bigger brushes. My wall brushes I store on their sides (always) in a box or clear container. If you had the space tho, no reason why they couldn't hang. Would avoid dropping them in a coffee can and walking away like I've seen DH do. *rolleyes* ;-) A tip I learned to keep bristles in shape: after you've washed, put a dab of hair conditioner or ivory bar soap on them, work in lightly, then place bristles between index and middle finger, squeeze from base to tip. When you get to the tip pinch really tightly to reshape. Set on a sink on their side to dry. Retains shape well that way. Just rinse out before next use.
