what are some of your best tips or tools?

I use several small children's toys as stencils. Some of them make great designs, for example, small children's hammer's, saws, and pliers are just the right size to trace around to make large die cuts with and they can be picked up at yard sales for almost nothing. I also use cookie cutters, for the same thing. I have found tons of small toys that can be used this way. I have also bought tons of children's books at yard sales for as little as a dime, and cut them up for punch art die cuts, finding Mickey Mouse, Looney Tunes, Garfield, and just about any cartoon you are looking for, with the only extra cost being a acid testing pen. I also use small children's coloring books and trace the large pictures for large but simple die cuts. As you can see half of my fun is finding ways to do this crafter cheaper, so I can purchase the other tools that are really needed. So what's your best tip?
