Other than shortening and attaching it to the comb, the veil is done! Huzzah!!! The beading consists of a wide variety of stuff, but I coordinated it with each flower being beaded in the same way regardless of where it occurred on the veil. I used paillets, rocailles, seed beads, bugle beads, czech crystal, swarovski crystal, individually mounted rhinestones, sequins, some jewelry baubles, a few pearls and hand embroidery in silver thread. Now I've got to start on my own dress for the wedding....

HI dancing girl ! Alot has happened since I purchased my pe scan! 2 new embroidery machines 1 old version of Disney then a new version of brother embroidery machine ....I haven used my pe scan but once! I tryed using it yesterday. ....it no longer works! Tryed looking it up on brother website but there is no such item must be so outdated! I took it apart today and fuse is black I need a new fuse ! But I don't know what kind of fuse it is! Brother is closed on Sunday :(. Maybe you know someone with this information the rest of the machine is pristine! But the fuse! ...I JUST ORDER THE BROTHER SCAN N CUT LAST WEEK! I'm so excited I'm wondering if I need this machine anymore now that I have the scan and cut I might be able just to transfer to pe design after I scan on cut n scan or I can just transfer it to my machine after that it sounds complicated to me so if I have to but a new one I might just get the flip pro scanner for brother I found one for 135.oo. so I have to wait till next month unless the cut n scan works?? If anyone knows anything about the only fuse that's inside the pe scan let me know ! I like to use this for lace if I can fix it! Thank you so much!! Dancing girl! !

Thank you, Decorpas. Your post came at just the right time to confirm what I think I knew in my heart. The RL took my breath away the first time I saw it. I like the feel and the direction it takes the room.. I also think that it will enhance my furniture rather than just working with it. I know it isn't classic BC but it fits my mental image of where I wanted to go. I have been second guessing the finish I selected for the bed but I think I made a good decision. I could have gone a lot of directions-- light, rusty, paint chipped, waxed green but I selected a black smythe base with brown and sienna top tones and very subtle gold in the casings. The picture below is a sample of the black with brown tones without the subtle gold tones: I will get pictures along the way so I can work with them to tweak the finish. It's a custom finish so feel free to give me your thoughts. I really like the Barbary Barry Springtime. How could you wake up in that bed and not be bright and cheery? Unfortunately, it is completely impractical with the dogs and I am afraid it is a little too cheery for my personality. I'd love it in a B&B but I think it might be too much for my own home.

Darn, I wish I didn't have so much going on already!! I really need to quit working at a job so I can do more of these fun projects! I love this pattern, and have also wanted to do some redwork. When I trace patterns for my BA quilts (and most of my applique work), I also use a "light box". I had my dh make me one of sorts. I had him build me a frame (using 2x 4's) that is open on the top. Sort of like a table without a top. Then I found a piece of plexiglass to use as the table top. Then I put a small lamp (without the shade) on a stool (or something short) under the table. This gives me plenty of room to tape my pattern to the plexiglass and then my fabric on top. It helps to do the tracing at night, too. And I use a washable pen. I'd love to see how this one comes out, so let us know how it goes (with pictures!!). Robbi
