What kind of Outlet Covers will look Good?
Comments (13)Its a LOT of money, I know, but how much more will it add to the entire budget of the kitchen. I am just being devil's advocate, not scolding. I run across this when I help clients with individual things sometimes...when it was part of the whole budget it didnt make much difference, but when they have to buy something individually, they have sticker shock. (and rightly so). I have had clients buy four cheap lampshades for a lamp only to finally say, okay you're right, spend $100 and get one made... If you need ten and its $300, and the kitchen was $30,000--thats one percent of the budget. Do you want to potentially cheapen the look of the backsplash with ordinary $2.00 covers? Just something to think about...the plastic, wood,or SS covers may work fine....See MoreHmm..Outlet Covers - Never Had To Think About Them Before
Comments (3)White did look too stark in my kitchen, with my "Gull" painted cabinets, dark counter, and pale blue-green walls. In face, I switched out the white outlets that my GC had installed for light almond colored ones then ordered biscuit plain porcelain covers. Looks great, I think, because even though they don't exactly blend in and disappear, they sort of do because they fit in with the 1942 Colonial nature of the space and color-wise are very compatible with the cabinets. There is an amazing variety of choices in covers, from plain plastic in varying shades, to paintable metal, various metal finishes, paintable/stainable wood, glass, stone-looking resin, colored smooth porcelain, and porcelain with anything from dogs to flowers to sports designs. Just google (or Bing) "switch plate covers" and you will find many on-line sources. I ordered mine from wallplatesonline.com....See MoreIf backsplash outlets are horizontal, what about the switches?
Comments (4)There's interesting stuff on that site, like a way to fit two outlets and one switch into a standard two-receptacle space. If you get a switch that is a bit unusual, that can't be found at the local hardware store, stash away a couple of extras. They're only $10 each....See MoreWhat do you think about Cover girl having their first "cover boy"?
Comments (27)I remember seeing the face for the first time.....beautiful and modern...almost poetic! I enjoyed seeing the whole look. I'd like to see more men care about the way they look....slim down....style their hair and clothing....take pride in themselves. What a world we'd live in "if" every little boy grew up and lived his dream of becoming an astronaut, a fireman or a doctor. Right?!...See Moremabeldingeldine_gw
