Scroll down to the bottom of the page to click on CONTACT US and send an e-mail.

Gardenweb won't read it until Monday and they may or may not do anything about it. This is a weakness in the site that many of us have repeatedly asked Gardenweb to fix.

Many times just calling out the spammer in that thread will lead to his/her post being removed. Maybe the GW mod does a search for the word "spam" every few days and deletes them.

All we need is a "flag" option.

I report it each time I see it, I copy and paste the location of the thread, not just the title of it, plus I include the name of the spammer...it gets removed almost immediately sometimes if you do it that way.

Also, change the drop down box for Nature of Message in their form to "Abuse or Violation." They may deal with those messages more quickly.

I wish we would all start posting when we've reported spam on a thread, so a bunch of us don't waste our time doing it again. Some people call out spammers on the thread but then don't say if they've been reported or not.

I never say when I report posts. I don't want to be accused of being one of the post Nazis who are often ripped apart for doing that....

Hmmm...not sure who would care if spam is reported? Besides the spammer....

The best thing to do if you're the first person who see's the topic is to reply and write, "Spam." Then no one else reply to the thread and it will just go away. The spammer rarely ever comes back to their thread.

Not until they have something else to post if they're being paid for it. :) Others are obviously business owners busy trying to push that boulder up the hill, which for me at least softens the irritation with a little dash of sympathy.

GardenWeb's mostly taking care of it well enough for my comfort level, though. I notice very little overall, but thanks to those who do keep it reported.

I like Oak's solution, it drops the spam down until it's deleted.

I'm sometimes up very early and will report the fresh spam, because of the time difference with asia/india/etc, there are often a few right on top of the lineup of threads.

I care about reporting spammers, they are cheating and I hate that.

I usually do not see the same spammer on more than maybe 2 threads. This one I have seen on more than six and I don't read every thread.

After reading about the problems spammers caused on the OldHouseWeb, I'll report spam if no one else has posted. A lot of members on that site gave up and went elsewhere. I would be truly disappointed if the same thing happened to GW.
