What do you buy from QVC???

I now look more selective at QVC, as there is so much on the market now. I did get some good storage items about a year ago, but even though there are really good buys--I still like to see (in person) what I buy

What did you see, that you have bought that is really a goodby???

I do all my Christmas Shopping from QVC. I try to watch for the special pricing, like the days special value. Since I'm handicapped, going shopping is a painful process. This way I take all year and I have a good time doing it. I also pay for it all year instead of one huge payment when I don't want one. By paying off my QVC bill each month, I don't have to worry about a large bill mounting nor pay high interest. I pay no interest. Of course I carry a lot of the stuff with me on my yearly visit North (from FL) to Virginia. I can also have all my grandkids stuff shipped to my daughter and she wraps it. Good deal there, huh?

One of the items I like from there is Wacky Tack. I use that stuff all over my house. Leaves no residue and is repositionable. I have every kind they make. I put my Christmas cards up with the tape and just "blap" them on the wall somewhere. I leave notes for my husband on the door, pantry or wherever. I keep a grocery list inside the pantry and when I go shopping, I can reposition it on the scooter in the store. Works like post-it notes, but is much cheaper in the long run.

Today I got a good deal on Valerie Parhill's candles. A special sale on 3 boxes of 3 soy candles in jars. 9 candles all different. Each one burns 42 hours. I also got an interchangeable wreath. One wreath with 8 plates for the seasons and birthday, Americana, etc., and 4 banners, like Peace on Earth, Welcome, etc. My Christmas shoppping has begun.

When I have to buy a $1000 projector it's nice to be able to save money.

I've done it. The bareroot roses came quite dry, and I think I was only able to revive two of the six they sent. Of the two I revived, one was mislabeled -- the one marked "Marie Osmond" was really Purple Heart. I still don't know if there actually is any rose named "Marie Osmond." The other one I got was the Emerald rose, which is Cottage Farms in-house name for Mint Julep. That one was true to variety, and I'm glad I have it, and was able to revive one of the two they sent. The small potted roses they sent were nice plants, however, and mine were not mislabeled. All of the ones I got from QVC were actually Cottage Farms roses, which can be usually obtained less expensively on the Cottage Farms site, except they don't sell roses in "collections." Ok thanx Heather. I did just that and i found out that it will cost me $202.60 canadian. I called them up, but unfortunatly they said that they cannot ship to my location becuase the item was oversised (becuase i live in canada and they have restrictions). I saw the orbitreck elliptical glider on sale for $239.99 in the canadian tire flyer, so i am looking around reading threads to see if it is worth my cash. :)

Back when I had cable, actually when I had cable that had QVC, I enjoyed watching it at times. I bought from them occasionally. Liked having it shipped to me rather than fight the crowds at holiday time and occasionally they had unusual things that I wanted. As far as the four-time felon goes, I just hope she doesn't have any non-fatal heart attacks. People often bash Walmart, but should look into the stunts the 4TF pulls with employees in her operation. QVC really got me to consider internet buying. As said though you have to consider the shipping and the tax too. For a while, there was no sales tax on QVC purchases so it could offset some of the shipping but not anymore. Actually, tax as I recall was higher than sales tax here so you need to look at the bottom line. Plus they used to reimburse you return shipping charges if you returned something but not anymore. That potential also needs to be factored in. I bought a toaster for a gift one time. It was one that you just put the bread in and it would lower it in automatically, then slowly raise it up when finished. Couldn't find one anywhere else. Went through two of them and gave up. The return shipping was nearly the cost of the stupid appliance.

We are under contract on our house and did FSBO. In our case the broker the buyer used did not have any lawyers down where we were. So I got to pick one out. But normally you get a list of lawyers to pick from that they work with. A purchase agreement was difficult. No lawyer really wanted to do one. The ones that said they would were 400.00. One even said specifically she would not. That she did not want to help a FSBO taking income away from realtors.
