no youre not wrong but you have to realize that a scrapbook page is protected by an acid free page protector also and is not left out where sun and ultraviolet lights can get to it every day either, like mats in a frame would be

When I look back at my very 1st scrapbook, I get disgusted at how much I thought I had to cut the pictures. Now, I only cut off the part of the photo that no one would ever be interested in...such as a recliner that takes up the whole left side of a photo, or excess grass at the bottom of a pic. I get tons of compliments on my albums now, and people tell me I should quit nursing and just scrapbook professionally. Good luck w/your album, and congratulations. There's a ton of stuff to choose from out there, but be creative and imaginative. Don't buy stickers of flowers...create your own. Don't place stickers messily over your entire page..group them together to make a scene or corner decoration. This way, they won't take away from your pictures (which should be the focal point of your album). Hope this helps.

Congratulations Tanya..well I have a few ideas..My daughter is expecting her first child in a couple of months...I am working on a book for my other daughters 30th birthday then I start on a baby scrapbook for the daughter who is expecting.. First a copy of the pregnancy test...then I took a picture of her early in her pregnancy..She had a ultra sound taken and I scanned that picture.. Just this weekend I took some more pictures of her .. ( I am fortunate to have a Digital Camera )I took three of her and made a collage , and we put that in a matted picture frame .. it turned out great and she gave it to her husband that night. The first two pictures were of her touching her tummy in a very loving way..the last one is with her shirt UP..and all her real tummy showing..she has her hands under her tummy like she is rocking the baby ..very personal yet very beautiful expression of her love for her child even before she arrives..I will of course take pictures of her shower..and the birth ..and go from there..the nice thing is that she is very creative herself and she will keep it up after I get so far. I am so happy to do this...It is so much fun..now remember to KEEP all things attached to the birth and from then on.. Like the Birth Announcement and the things from the hospital and you just build from there..Good Luck...And Blessings To You ...

Creating Keepsakes magazine has helped me a lot. They have a lot of layouts and there are a lot of concepts you can adapt to many applications. Gracefulbee.com also has a ton of great ideas. I spent a whole lot of time there before I started my first album and got to the point where I said to myself, "Stop gathering all these ideas and tips- you have too much to choose from as it is! Quit it and get to the actual scrapbooking!" :) I also spent a lot of time- several days, actually- on message boards like this one gathering ideas and info. Don't be afraid to directly email posters and ask for further details and clarification on a specific post, either. We all love to share. If we didn't, we wouldn't have posted in the first place!
