He finally replied, and says that shipping will be $24, and he has to fill out paperwork. I don't get that.. this is a very small item, 7 tiny tubes of watercolor paints that would fit in a small box or a 8inch bubble envelope! Considering that I frequently send the large bubble envelopes with 1kg of items to Australia for a cost of $34, and they arrive within 10 days, something is wrong with his estimate! Moonshadow, this is for seven 14 ml tubes of Winsor Newton artists watercolor (not Cotman). I told him I would expect that for that shipping cost, it would include a rigid box for packing, and a tracking number. He offered to ship them to a US address or give me a refund, but for some reason didn't say he would agree to me paying the shipping directly to me. I do want the paints, I don't think I trust him to ship them unless it is with a tracking number, and if I'm paying that much, I will insist on one! DawnP, such a nice offer! The person in the US that I could have them sent to is a business associate of my DH, but he travels for work a lot and isn't always easy to reach. I might take you up on that offer, but hopefully the seller will be reasonable. He does risk negative feedback, and I would hope he doesn't want to risk getting any. You might let eBay know about the problem anyway, though the 45 days have passed. Last Christmas I ordered a DVD via "Buy It Now" that never came. When I contacted the seller, he said "Oh, I was out of those, I'm getting more in a week." I responded, then why did you list "Buy it now"? We went back and forth and I made the major mistake of not contacting eBay before the 45 days were up. eBay told me, when I contacted them at 60 days, that I really needed to do this before the 45 day mark. I forwarded everything to them at that point. My DVD arrived in March, in time for my dad's birthday. It was supposed to have been a Christmas present for him. I still believe it was ebay that pushed the seller into sending it, regardless of their "45 day" posted thing. So do contact eBay anyway. They need to know. Have all of your documentation handy. I have a special email box for online orders, where I keep copies of all correspondence for anything (eBay confirmations, PayPal confirmations, emails from the sellers, etc). DonnaR/CA

Nahema is really pretty! Is it a climber for either of you? Dortmund is really beautiful and I asked Matt about it once when I was admiring his mother (cutting) plant. He said it was the best it had ever looked which sort of implied it normally didn't have so many flowers so I ended up not getting it. Then last year I saw a hugh gorgeous one at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens that was loaded with flowers so it definately does well out there. These 3 pictures are from the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. Does anyone think I could get Dortmund to this size in Denver? It is a zone 4 so maybe I should try. Thanks for the report on Lady in Red. I had such high hopes for it and was surprised it died down to the ground. If yours didn't make it then I'm not the only one. All my pictures are previous years also. In the very short time I've been growing roses I learned not to prune before May so as not to encourage new growth as it will just freeze. I think so far it appears all mine survived this last winter due to a bit of green cane at the base. Robusta is the only rose I've added that has turned into a good sized bush and is green to the tips. Pretty Lady rose is next for reliable green cane but not showing new growth on them yet, except at the base. Winnipeg Parks appears to be putting out alot of new leaves. She was put in July 2019 so is just an itty bitty thing. I have high hopes for her. I am very surprised that my Bucks had serious cane death to the ground (Amiga Mia and Calico Gal). Even my Fairy which is a 20+ year old plant had alot of cane die off so I think I will prune it to the ground to get it rejuvinated this year. The last couple of years it seems to have struggled and been losing size year over year. Glad to hear your Love Song does well! I put one in July 2018 but it only had two blooms last year. It is in a sheltered spot because everyone said it wouldn't live. But it is too shady and probably needs to be moved to the sun. However then it will be exposed to the harsh winters. My husband wants to give it another year because he is the one who would have to move it. So not sure what will happen with it this next year. What sort of environment do you have yours in? Any photos of the full bush?
