I think everyone else already said it; the number one thing is make sure you have place with good direct sunlight from the south. If you can get it next to a south-facing wall or other heat-sink so much the better. Where I live in Seattle you don't have to have a greenhouse to grow tomatoes, but you will probably want to cover them in a hoop house or something until July probably. If you don't, you can still get fruit, but it will be in September. Be sure to choose appropriate varieties, in generally anything the seed catalogs claim will riper in 75 days or less is probably a good bet, and Russian heirloom varieties have always done well for me. I once tried to grow Hillbilly tomatoes here; this was a wonderful variety, but I only got a few fruit very late in the season. I suppose a greenhouse would be great if you have the money to spare on it, of course. Seattle is right on the Puget Sound, so cold weather is mitigated, but we have to deal with cool springs and rainy and early summers. Things that grow very well include brassicas (esp. kale and Asian greens such as mizuna), leeks, pole and bush beans, peas, lettuce, strawberries, etc. Cucumbers grow too in the open here too, but they are challenging. I have never had good luck with bell peppers at all, but I know some people who have grown them in a good micro-climate. I have had good luck with winter squash in the past, but one year they were very disappointing, and made practically no female blooms. That year was especially cool. In short, chose your crops and varieties more carefully here, and don't try to grow warm-weather crops without a good sunny area!

If you do a search, you'll find that there have been several threads on this topic recently. In terms of what it is called, you want to provide sound attenuation. You would never "sound proof" your house. It would be ridiculously expensive (if you could even manage it), and it would be very uncomfortable. I am an audiologist (although I no longer practice), and I find that being in a "real" sound proof room is a very weird feeling. Almost suffocating... So, what you would be looking for is a product that would help to decrease the transmission of sound between rooms. You need to determine what dB level of noise transmission would be acceptable to you and from there you can begin to plan the products and strategies to make it happen. You can work with an acoustical engineer to come up with the correct formulas, but you will need to take into account multiple factors, including but not limited to flooring materials, ceiling heights, room sizes, etc. Most homeowners never go into that level of detail...it certainly does not sound from your posting that you would very much attenuation. One very easy fix is to use carpet upstairs rather than a hardwood...much quieter.

Some folks have a problem with no appetite, they need the calories. Not me. But my dad has that problem. However, the solution to having no appetite is to eat a little something. An "appetizer" because that is what it is for. I try to get him to just start with a few crackers spread with peanut butter . . . or a piece of cheese or a dab of chicken salad. For health, try to do something with whole grains and not a lot of sugar. Cereal is great too. That's why we almost always have oatmeal of one type or another ready to go. I happen to like brown rice cakes with nut butter and some fruit or home made jam on top. That's a "gluten free" alternative to crackers. I actually have the opposite problem, I need to find ways to tamp down my appetite . . . I have to assiduously avoid appetizing foods . . .

@Jan Moyer My parents told me they’d like if i’d stay home for another 1-2 years due to health issues and they were worried about me being on my own with those issues. My parents and I have a great relationship and they actually encourage me to continue making music since the last 5-6 years of my life have been very hard to deal with health and mental health wise and they are just happy to see their son happy and healthy for the first time in a while. Also I have insomnia diagnosed and I’ve been from medicine to medicine since i was 13 because of it so i worked my schedule around my struggle with sleeping therefore causing the problem with me being up late when my parents are asleep. Both my parents are retired plus I exaggerated when I said they yell at me for the noise because in 6 months they only asked me 2 times to be a little more quite and in reality the main problem is that i don’t feel comfortable recording knowing 1. I might wake my parents up and 2. I use music as a journal and talk about very personal issues in my life that i don’t want my parents to hear and worry about considering how rough the last 5 years or so have been for us all. *PSA I’m 21 and still sat here giving you a genuine and normal response without attacking or belittling you in anyway because deep down I know if you knew my life and what me and my family had to go through as a whole the past few years that your comments would be very different. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover :) and stop being so negative, the way you treat others is a reflection of how you treat yourself*
